395 and 398 returned to Cadillac at 1430 with around 20 tie gons, 6 cement hoppers and 1 gon for Beacon. Got to watch them from about four blocks away. Around 1230 I heard horns on the north end of town. I'm assuming it was the stranded Mancelona power coming south. Tufford Yard now has a ballast/Beacon train for TC and plastics/cement for the Petoskey branch. I fully expect a northern run tomorrow. Too bad I'm working.

They're currently blasting their horn through Kingsley, sounds like 382 is back.

AANR, you are tough 8) .

Interesting they used one of the cement cars as a spacer. I don't think mty LPG tank cars require a spacer between the engine, perhaps I'm mistaken. Or maybe they use the cement car to keep the engines of the siding when they park them north of Kalkaska then pick them up southbound on their way to switch the gas plant south of town.

Unless properly cleaned, the tank cars still carry a hazardous placard.

Hazardous tanks are still considered hazardous unless they are fully cleaned and the placards are removed. Otherwise they are a "residue car" which still requires at least 1 buffer car between a locomotive or an occupied caboose.

Looks like maybe a smaller unit train working the bean plant in ithaca. One unit parked on the main north of the switch and another in the siding moving around some new looking covered hoppers 1730
