CN Updates-June 2019

My dad saw some shiny CN passenger cars on a train this morning on his way to work. He lives about a mile away from the Linden Rd overpass on the Flint Sub. Unfortunately he hasn’t told me which way they were headed but interesting none the less.

149 was bringing the business cars back from Canada today.

Train 514 SB past MP 22.5 at 5:30 pm with a long container train. 4916 and 5459 again today.

That PTC Amtrak Test Train just went NB past MP 22.5 at 5:50 pm just a minute or so after 355 went by SB.

NB 514 with a long train of containers went by MP 22.5 at 8:10 pm.

No Amtrak 352 yet, two hours late so far.

G899 is being put away in Durand Yard. CN 2516 and CN 5751.

764 also ran earlier with BNSF 9189, 8571 and 6436.

The Amtrak PTC Test Train went NB past MP 22.5 at 2:20 pm. Same power and equipment. Amtrak 350 just went past MP 22.5 at 2:53 pm with the two same Chargers bracketing five cars as has been the case now for a week or so.

G899 is becoming an X505 to run from Durand to Battle Creek.

514 is turning the corner at Durand.

502 is at Okemos, and HESR 3391 is waiting to enter town at Lansing Road.

Train 515 with 5456 again went NB past MP 22.5 around 3:15 pm returning to Pontiac.

Train 371 with two CN's is passing MP 22.5 at 4:46 pm.

Train 514 SB past MP 22.5 at 5:54 pm, out ahead of Amtrak 355 which is late leaving Pontiac.

Amtrak 355 was about 15 minutes late leaving Pontiac.

And to round out our train math today, a Train 513 just went SB with 5456 and one tank car at 6:20 pm.

CN northbound through Royal Oak at 21:08. It does not look like 391, almost looks like a Mt Clemens sub train. CN Gevo, CN SD70M-2, CN SD70M-2, GTW SD40-2, GTW GP38-2.

Went past MP 22.5 around 9:45 pm. I think it was 391 as it had the usual engineer. 5933 was the SD40-2 and I think 5831 was the GP38-2.

Earlier, NB 515 went through Pontiac at 8:50 pm with containers. I never saw the power on it today but the usual 4916 it has been running with along with the 5459 was in Pontiac yard alone this evening along with a blue GTW GP38-2. Amtrak 352 arrived Pontiac about an hour late around 9:25 pm or so.

The Amtrak PTC train was parked at the coaling tower in Pontiac Yard tonight.

514 with the intermodal is just east of Durand. CN 5459 and GTW 4900.

Amtrak 364 departing from Flint.

391 has CN 2309 and CN 2147. Got into Pontiac at 1936 with their usual tiny train.

502 has CN 8011 and CN 2148. Southbound by Royal Oak approx 2315.

501, IC 2719 is departing west from Flint after making a pickup/setout there.

X371, CN 2320 departed from Pontiac a few minutes ago.

An extra crew is at Pontiac with the GTW 4912. They are headed to work at Durand, then going to Flint.

Amtrak Test train was NB on the Mount Clemens sub by North MOUNT at 09:45.

M382 by Mount Clemens depot at 10:23. CN/CN/CN/CEFX/CN, 117 cars.

Busy day on the MTC, with several trains since midnight.

Train 515 had 4912 today and was working East Yard (or what is left of it) around 10 am.

Train 371 was NB past MP 22.5 at 2:30 pm. Long train and missed the power.

There is a BLE engine sitting NB at Moterm.

116 had CN 3210, 2914, BLE 866 and BLE 878.

They ran light engine to Flat Rock and the BLE 878 was setout at Moterm. 513 will grab it later today.

371 had CN 2290 and CN 2139.

Train 514 is SB at 7:10 pm with 4900 today along with old stalwart 5459.

Train 391 with two CN's and a longer than usual train is passing MP 22.5 at 8:14 pm. A lot of covered hoppers, both long and short, interspersed throughout the train. The jumbo covered hoppers are appearing more and more often on the Holly. Used to be a very rare sighting.
