Train 514 returning to Flint passing MP 22.5 at 7:54 pm and not too long of a NB train today.

L533N finished working Mount Clemens and headed back to Port Huron. Rails are already getting rusty around here, and 533 is likely to be the only train operating on the north end of the subdivision for, at the very least, a few days - and even it might not be running.

There might be a few trains that got stranded in Port Huron, I'm not sure. Maybe these might be sent south down the Mount Clemens Sub? Thinking M382, M394, Q148.

Yup, darn derailment!!!! Well, does anyone know if that derailment will be all cleaned up by Monday, July 1? I will be in Port Huron that day photographing LSRC on the Dunn Paper® Spur! I would think trains could be running smoothly in three days! :?: Would there be any special "Cleaning Equipment" left in the area? Time will tell!!!!

If they have to detour 148/9 for a few days I wonder if they'll change where 514 stages cars for them. Years ago I saw cuts of loaded wells being swapped at snow but that was way before I was fluent enough in operations to know why or by what train.
I also was wondering about 148/9. If CN routes them by way of the tunnel at Detroit/Winsor and the Holly Sub. Then my guess is they would just do the work at Moterm, eliminating L514 till things get back to normal.

Well, the dispatcher just told someone (I did not catch who, possibly 391) they would be waiting on 148 and 116.

Edit to add:
It will be 148 first and 116 will follow.

A train just turned from west to south at Durand at 22:45. That's probably the Q148 from this morning that got stranded near Port Huron. And now, at 23:02, Q116 is turning south.

I figured that had to be the case with 148. it took me a few moments to get my head around why 148 was westbound on the Flint sub.

Any way 148 cleared the detector MP 59.9 at 11:05 with 428 axles. 116 cleared the same location at 11:28 PM, with 156 axles.

Looking at ATCS, around midnight a train came north into Detroit's East Yard from the Shoreline Sub. Was there for about an hour. Now is heading back south to the Shared Assets connection at Vinewood where it came from.

Also yesterday morning's Q148, which never made it to Canada, is approaching Milwaukee Jct. I believe I heard that the crew is short on time, so the train may halt at D&M for a while.

At about 02:00 a westbound! freight went by the Durand cameras. Looked like a typical L501. Maybe it originated in Flint?

Heard desk 8 talking to GTW 6221, should have been them. Was a W900 series symbol.

I went and caught 2 more trains at Williams Lake Rd.

#1 was 280 I missed seeing the power.
#2 was southbound and all intermodal I am guessing "today's" 148. Had CN 2707 leading.

A SB went past MP 22.5 south of Pontiac at 5:30 am then another SB followed Amtrak 351 down the Hill around 6 am. Probably these two trains. Didn't get out of bed to see them.

At 9:50 am a SB went past MP 22.5 with a single BNSF unit and, except for a few cars on the headend, all autoracks. I will call it a Train 280.

At 9:55 am NB is dragging a train past my house with two CN's. Maybe a reroute as there are a lot of tank cars and boxcars instead of autoracks. Long train. I have my scanner on now to see what train it is. My guess a reroute or that extra 256 (?)that sometimes runs out of Flat Rock. Update, the DS called it but I missed its number. Said that he forgot how long he was and was asking if he was going to make the Hill, which they did at about 15 mph. The reason for the call was that DS figured he would be long gone by now as Amtrak 353 is due out and they are delaying Amtrak. His bad, he admitted. He said they obviously forgot about the hill when they only gave the train 2 locomotives. So my guess is that it is a reroute.

It is 12:40 pm and no trains since the above report. So much for the great Holly Sub. reroute. Is anything moving anywhere?

Observations from looking at the overnight Durand camera archive footage:
- At about 2:00 AM, a WB that looked like an L501 went through. Maybe cars from Flint, or stranded cars from Port Huron?
- At about 2:45, NB M391 turned west. It was mostly containers plus a few other cars.
- At about 2:53, an EB lined to Port Huron raced through. Led by two CN-painted GTW engines, it had what looked like a normal mix of freight, but also a string of gondolas filled with something light-colored, plus what looked like some maintenance/work equipment at the end.
- At about 4:00 AM, a single-BNSF autorack train went south on the Chicago Wye.
- At 4:45 AM, an intermodal train of all single stacks turned south. This may have been the Q122 sighted earlier in Indiana. Don't know if this took the Detroit tunnel or went to Toledo.
- At 5:45 AM, another single-BNSF autrorack train turned south on to the Holly.

A SB is rolling past MP 22.5 at 1:11 pm. Mostly autoracks. Maybe another 280? Two CN's leading a red and black JCLX ??? lease unit that looked like a GP-20, the first turbocharged EMD model. If so, that is a first on the Holly.

I believe that jlcx was 2002. The person I got that from said it was a gp18 but couldn't find any history on it. Maybe someone on here has better resources.
