I guess a setout might explain the slow transit time, but would they have a Q train set out enroute?

Not sure to be honest. I would guess 60-90 minutes. But that's just my guess and it probably depends. Some days they even skip Lansing work randomly. I would suggest listening to the lansing area railfeed scanner or using your own scanner on chanel 8 (road) and 14(dispatch). They need to get a track warrant (Form EC-1 track authority) to proceed west out of lansing as it is ABS but not CTC territory from lansing to Lake O.

Q329 west clear MA in Lansing approaching Ensel at 09:15 with CSXT 916 and 3272 elephant style with about 85 cars. Lots of boxcars and two auto racks in the consist today.

Tlout, sounds like some empties running as D80120 will bring empties south through Holland soon, bring the train down Saugatuck hill, then detach from train to push Q326 up the hill. They'll reattach afterwards and have E80018's crew get taxied on to take it west this afternoon.

Wrote down 3271 for the second unit when by Howell at 08:12 and counted 88 cars. Q32821 went east by Howell at 04:46 with CSX 3234+3426 and 70 cars.
