Train 391 (I presume) is NB past MP 22.5 at 7:45 with a CN leading a BNSF. I have not seen the 513 container shuttle yet this evening, neither the lite engine move to Moterm or the train coming into Pontiac.

The Container Shuttle went by MP 22.5 NB at 9:45 pm last night with a long train. Missed the power but it sounded like 5456. It kept 391 waiting in Pontiac for a few hours as they were there early last night.

Train 515 with 5456 again went SB past MP 22.5 at 9:45 am.

At 10:35 am, following Amtrak 353 out of Pontiac, is a SB 280-type rack train with BNSF 4300 as the sole power.

That short doublestack reported above just went past MP 22.5 south of Pontiac at 5:57 pm with CN SD60's 5426 and 5459. Since it is Thursday, it might be that international train from Prince Rupert that used to run pretty regularly later in the week. My bet it that the power will handle the WB Container Shuttle this evening from Moterm to Pontiac as the timing is perfect for it.

The Container Shuttle passed MP 22.5 at 9:10 pm with the power from the earlier SB container extra. Train 391 has been in Pontiac for an hour already.

Amtrak 352 is running two hours late into Pontiac and hasn't passed here yet.

Train 371 with BNSF 4300, 4303 and a third one along with GT 4915 trailing NB past MP 22.5 at 2:45 pm.

At 3:05 pm, returning Train 515 with GT 4912 is passing MP 22.5. The work train reported above is the rear end of 515's train being pulled.

At 3:40 pm a 280 all autorack train with two BNSF locomotives went SB past MP 225.

At 4:53 pm a SB short doublestack train went by, again, with those same two SD60's that powered yesterday's SB doublestack at about the same time. Rumor has it that this is a new train on the Holly, Train 514, that is shuttling containers between Flint and Moterm in the late afternoon and then, in the early evening, between Moterm and Flint. Not the one-way shuttle we have seen for a week or so only from Moterm to Pontiac for 391 to pick up. Train 148 must be dropping them off in Flint and Train 149 picking them up there now.

And at 7:30 pm the NB 514 container train rolled by MP 22.5 and a long train.

So about this new intermodal on the Holly that is designated Train 514. Wasn't that the number of the overnight local between Flint and Pontiac? Did that local train stop running? I recall Jim in Waterford reporting on its appearance in Pontiac almost nightly but I do not recall any such report lately. Maybe 502 took over that work, though I don't think 502 comes out of Flint but, instead, from the West. If I am putting the pieces together, maybe the new Intermodal 514 will also be handling mixed freight between Flint and Pontiac unless there is still the local that does it and I am confusing its number.

Years ago there was a Detroit to Flint turn called Trains 420 and 421. It was the last road freight on GTW to use a caboose and I fondly remember making sure my kids watched it go by the house each time as that was the end of the caboose era. The reason for the caboose use was that the switch off the Holly to the Flint Wye in Durand wasn't electrified yet and so the tail end crew had to normalize it for the main when the train was through it.

Train 116 is SB passing MP 22.5 at 7:41 am with a CN leading, what else, a BNSF locomotive. Containers on the headend, autoracks on the tail end.

The old Flint/Pontiac L514 turn was abolished last year, though I can't remember which month. L502 does come from the west, working Durand, Pontiac, and other yards (Lansing?) on the way from Battle Creek to Toledo. My understanding from reading FB group posts is that Q116 will still bring containers from the west into Moterm, but the new L514 will bring to Moterm containers from the east (that Q149 has set out in Flint). L514 will take away both eastbound and westbound outbound containers to Flint, where Q148 and Q149 will pick them up. So both Q148 and Q149 now work in Flint! I haven't heard anything about mixed freight being transported, but we'll see how this evolves.
