Need utility poles, anyone?

D708 got a late atart eastward today passing MA in Lansing at 16:20 with about 60 cars, including many loads of poles including some in the 80’ range. A very heavy train and 2nd unit CSXT 8446 was throwing a lot of smoke. 4385 led LHF as usual. Otherwise, a usual mix of cars including 4 boxcars.

Thank you GP30M4216. 8446 would have been the 2nd unit on Q326 yesterday at Bangor behind CSX 437. 708 sat off ten cars in Fowlerville, came to Howell at 18:00 to put 46 cars into the Howell pass for GLC and will return back west.

MOW work at m. p. #6 in Grandville near the switch at the end of double track. Replacing some ties and checking allignment. This area around Grandville has become a headache for MOW all year.

Loaded BNSF coal train passing east bound thru Bangor mile post CG60.7 at 09:23 heading to the Consumer Energy power plant near Holland. I didn't catch the train number since I was away from my computer.

This mornings Q328 & 329 went by Howell at the exact same times as yesterday. Q32804 by at 06:50 with 75 cars had CSX 485+394 and probably one of the GP38-3 or GP40-3 units assigned to GRP. Looked like 6561, but that's not one of them. Q32904 went west at 07:54 with CSX 7909+5346 and 71 cars.

As of 10:13am, the BNSF loaded coal train that was passing thru Bangor mp CG60.7 at 09:23 has not passed thru Pullman mp CG48 yet. He may have gone into Grand Junction siding - maybe the crew is out of time - haven't heard a word on the CSX radio traffic regarding this train. Track went out of service at 9am until noon around mile post CG94 for rail replacement. Protection is set up from Livingston mp CG98.3 & to St. Joseph

Since they've been adding DPUs there, it wouldn't be surprising for them to take a delay at Grand Junction.
