At MA in Lansing today:

Q329 by at 08:55. Lots of boxcars.
JAIL NB at 09:20 lite, back south at 11:20 with boxcar COER 173921.
D708 by at 11:55 with just 6 cars.

For the past few days, D708 has been running with an elephant style pair of SD40-3s, 4385 and 4229, facing west. Tuesday’s EB train had 35 cars, yesterday, 19.

CSX 6062 with 2 center beam cars, 2 boxcars, caboose south at Riley St. Holland 12:36 PM.

Q327 clear Hudsonville at 20:00 with CSX 7723 and 2746 laboring to keep 130 cars moving. Nice melodic horn.

P370-04 is currently going through Benton Harbor. Sounds like AMTK 138 leading. Also sounds like they're late because they hit a fallen tree west of Stevensville.
I imagine fallen trees blocking the railroad (and highways) will be more commonthis Fall, as the ash trees killed by the Emerald Ash Borers are now rotted enough that any wind will make them fall over. I was walking on the trails at Sarrett Nature Center near Benton Harbor recently, this past Monday, and last Wednesday. Since last week, many trails were blocked by fallen Green Ash trees that were victims of the EAB.
It has also been very windy across the Great Lakes Region these past few days.

Q327-04 is currently going through Riverside. They left Kirk shortly after 10:30 pm after meeting P370-04 there.

P370-04 is currently being held at (East) Saugatuck. It sounds like light engines, D801, struck a pedestrian somewhere east of there.

Sounds like the pedestrian strike was at MP25.2, just west of the depot at Holland.
GDLK Z739 is going to come into wyoming yard soon. MQT Z15104 is working wyoming yard in Grand Rapids currently.

Q32905 by Howell at 09:20. CSX 6013+4024 with 35 cars. Had not seen GP40-2 6013 in nearly 22 years, since the last day of the year in 1996 while in Hamlet North Carolina. Earlier, Q32805 went east at 07:20. CSX 5312+997 with 80 cars.
