L533N was by Mount Clemens depot at 05:28. GTW/GTW, 147 containers. GTW 4934 picked up an extra GTW unit (also blue) at Moterm for the trip back to Sarnia.

The earlier L533N reported at 01:15, was apparently another local that was working the south end of the MTC sub. Did not see the power, but it had many tanks and centerbeams.

This is an interesting report. The unit at Moterm that 533 pickup up might have been 6221 that 515 had as its second locomotive with 4632 earlier this week and came back without it. I was wondering what happened to it. The "Earlier L533N" sounded from its consist to be 515, which works the south end of the MC Sub but what would it be doing way up in Mount Clemens? Changes are afoot and over time we should figure them out. I always wondered why the south end of MC Sub was worked out of Pontiac instead of Port Huron since they stopped being based out of East Yard a few years ago.

Yes, I agree - CN seems to be doing a little "tweaking" with regard to the Detroit area locals. Yesterday, in the wee hours, there was a light engine that headed to Detroit from Port Huron, and now I'm kind of thinking that this was the power for the train that went back to PH last night with the tanks and centerbeams. My understanding was that after the LSRC took over the Dunn Paper work in PH, CN was aiming at getting down to one local crew based out of there - but I've seen the sporadic L524 and the L533 operating simultaneously - so who knows? As you say, we'll figure it out!

Train 515 NB past MP 22.5 at 7:51 pm with 30 cars and 6221 (still assigned to Pontiac, don't know how or when she returned) working hard up the hill.

I was at Collier Road today where it crosses the Orion Sub a mile or so north of PON Junction in Pontiac and noticed that the tracks were cut on either side of the crossing with a barrier erected on the south side. CN is still servicing the scrap yard there as there were three gondolas in the plant. I guess nothing more going north of here anymore and that this is now the end of the Orion Sub.
