Maybe GLC is storing stuff in them, therefore still in use.
I'm still curious about that former AA box car on the main near the "end of track" sign. Keeps avoiding the torch since it was delivered in April. Was even on the Beacon siding at the very end, then in June removed and placed on the main, where it's been ever since- occasionally moved around during switching, but never put back on the Beacon siding. Must be some mystery behind that.

Heard them leave Cadillac towards Clare at 0940. No chance to see them.

Nb by Ithaca soy bean plant at 1230. 2 units, a deep well flat with a transformer on it, 2 lumber loads, lots of ties, black tanks, plastic, some empty chip hoppers. Would have been great to get a video with that oversize load.

The lumber loads are probably coming up here to TC, but I wonder where the transformers are going?

Doesn't east Jordan have a project going?

Occasionally a transformer will be unloaded off a team track south of Traverse City but in this case it could be for the new steel mill near Elmira

The track south of TC is actually Consumers Energy's siding (not a public team track). I also have a photo of 2 well cars being unloaded from the main in Grawn across US-31 from Cherryland Electric's headquarters. That was about 4 or so years ago.

Thanks for the video Mark! I was hoping you'd catch this train, for the depressed flat w/ transformer load. I guess it didn't go as far as Cadillac.

I think Consumers Power in Alma gets an occasional transformer load but since it was sighted in Ithaca it seems like it would be going further north

Today right around noon, GLC was northbound just north of Mancelona with 396 and 329 with a decent sized train of hoppers, looked like plastics and cement.

I've seen M of W cars parked on that Consumers siding as well as rails and ties occasionally. Must be that Consumers shares the siding with GLC.

TC Man, can you post the grawn photos. thanks.

You're welcome Todd. As soon as I read the post about the transformer, I started to listen for the horns south of town. I am curious as to where it ended up though.

They lined these up Wednesday morning. I thought for sure they were headed to Petoskey then.
