CSX Train Location Updates: August, 2018

Morning Trains By Howell: Q32910 went west at 09:00 with CSX 764+863 and 106 cars, Q328 went east at 09:48 with CP 9376+ UP 5526+ CSX 5470 with 74 cars. Sounds as if there was a mishap with 328 somewhere when a vehicle behind a vehicle, intentional or not, pushed it into the side of their train.

OK, this is "Rougemere Yard" in Dearborn, correct? Now, can anyone "Verify" that UP "Olympic Torch" SD70M #2001 is still there? Please help! I can get this train in the afternoon today, August 10!!!! Will it lead a train?

Where does NS Q132 go? Please help!!!!

CSX intermodals for Detroit go the facility at the south side of the former Livernois Yard off Dix Avenue. Oak Yard on the other hand is split between CSX local carload traffic and CP intermodal. CP leases part of Oak Yard for its small container business. No CSX intermodal is handled there. CSX power from Detroit intermodal possibly would go to Rouge Yard for servicing. Sounds like your Q132 came up the Lincoln Secondary from Carleton.

OK, this is "Rougemere Yard" in Dearborn, correct? Now, can anyone "Verify" that UP "Olympic Torch" SD70M #2001 is still there? Please help! I can get this train in the afternoon today, August 10!!!! Will it lead a train?

UP 2001 should still be there. If CSX didn't hand it off to NS or something in Detroit last night, I've got to figure it'll leave on Q13110 tonight around 8-9pm. Maybe it'll leave on some other afternoon train, dunno. Keep your scanner going if you really need to see that engine moving.

64 of those 71 cars, D708 picked up from GLC at Ann Pere yesterday that were delivered to CSX into the Howell pass the night before.. 708 left Howell going back to Lansing with 69 cars. Depending on how many cars 329 sat off, they could have easily left Lansing with 170 cars. That ought to plug up GRP good with the big train coming on 326 today.

That's right Zack! I read that earlier today, but just heard it's at CSX "Livernois Yard!" Now, did you or anyone here actually see UP "Olympic Torch" SD70M #2001?

Whatever the case, the Rougemere yard and the yard on Dix Ave in Melvindale are just about a mile apart. Drive or ride your bike between the two and I'm sure you'll find it. Off the computer with you and get railfaning; hop to, chop chop!

E801 is currently going through Riverside.
