No apologies needed, they add a bit of depth and a reference point.

Does GLC normally get flat cars? Empty or load?

I don’t know about this flat car but often the wood pole loads for McBain will have “idler “ flat cars in between the loaded ones

GLC went north through Howell Sunday morning at 10:30 with 119 cars, and two units, 390 & 395. Probably a 90 car grain empty set on the rear, the rest on the front were sand and other misc. cars including more grain.

Looked like the flat car in question was just a maintenance of way flat car. The one's GLC have made from the old AA boxcars.

I remember watching AA loading cars onto the Frankfort ferry. They used three flat cars as idlers between the loaded cars and the engine. I presume they wanted to keep the locomotive off the loading apron. I took pictures but sadly my ex wife destroyed them. Would be nice to have them today to show around. Anyone else see this operation?

You are very fortunate to have watched this operation, Pixl. And you are correct about the flat cars between the engine and ferry. It was to keep the engine of the apron/ship.

397, 398 and 390 return to Cadillac at 1630 with 2 covered hoppers, 11 gons, 1 pole
, 6 tie loads, 4 tanks and 17 sand hoppers.

In the string of 11 gons, I could see ties sticking out of the top of the first 9, then there was a DJJX gon and one other. I wasn't close enough to get road numbers. Will have to see where they spot these two to see where they're going.

Ran to Yuma after rolling into Cadillac this afternoon. This was taken around 1840 on their way back. The sun was not cooperating but I wanted to get Lake Mitchell in the background. After returning to Selma Yard they took 1 covered hopper to the north side.

As always thanks for the video AANR. Are the two gondolas (DJJX and the other) still in Selma Yard?

Probably both gons for Beacon in Traverse City. I've seen DJJX, NS, NSSX, and last week some other reporting mark (maybe started with a ?"P"...).

Returned to Cadillac at 1810. Everything after the sand cars was taken to the north yard.
