I hear there may be an Amtrak PTC test train in Jackson. Anybody know where they will be going to test today?

Hopefully this means we're getting much closer to having the Chargers on the line!

We won't be getting them quite as soon as we want. Even if the testing works out, all of Michigan's SC-44s have been held at Pueblo. They will only be sent to Chicago once the testing in complete or when Amtrak has sufficient storage space at CUS, whichever happens first.
If the Conductor is in charge of the train, then why is he promoted to Engineer?

Amtrak just passed Battle Creek e/b, running slow and did not stop at station, didn't catch the lead unit maybe AMTK 68? with 2 coaches and AMTK 518, 519, and 58 on the back end. Seemed odd!

Several pieces of Amtrak MOW equipment tied down on the old industrial siding near CP Custer in Battle Creek. Also noticed the new Amtrak signal bungalow there is just marked "CP 124" in smallish letters, unlike the old CR/NS one that it replaced that had a large "CUSTER" sign on both ends.

The Pere Marquette is back to single level cars, at least for today. Tonight's on-time arrival into Holland was led by Charger #4621, an Amcafe, 2 Horizon coaches, and P42 #35. Those headlights are bright! The Chargers sure are quiet though. And the destination sign on the nose is a nice touch that I feel like casual passengers might appreciate....if they can see it through the blinding gleam of the LED light assemblies on the nose!
