Amtrak P37105 west at Bangor at 7:38am, AMTK 38, a charger, 3 supers, and AMTK 90229.

So it appears that the Chargers aren't going to be trusted in cold AND snowy conditions.

I'm not sure it's that particularly. I haven't seen chargers on 370/371 for a while now with any regularity. Another foam rumor is that they're not playing well with the NPCU's, but I find that one hard to believe...

I would say “aren’t YET trusted in snowy conditions.”

It appears that Siemens has recognized a snow problem and is trying to come up with a fix. I’ve heard at least two trips where they sent Chargers with factory techs to see what happens. Guessing this was another test run.

CSX S385-05 cleared South Lyon at 4:50 PM with that YN2 Geep CSXT 6151 leading. Was moving at a decent clip.

RN gave S385 several EC1 forms when leaving Plymouth addressed to this unit number but did not address it as a foreign unit. Did a double take if it was CSX because this one of a kind only YN2 unit in this number series and assigned to the Baltimore area for the last 20 years has not been seen personally by me since 8-19-95 because I don't go there, and it never comes here..... until today. Can hardly wait to see this, and what's up with an "S"-385. Getting nervous with the demise of intermodal into Detroit again via Grand Rapids. Will report the rest of the power as an edit when it goes by Howell. And yes, S385 is approaching from afar with a very bad radio, and not the one calling signals.

EDIT: By Howell at 17:33. CSX 3039 trailing 6151, both units facing west. 6151 is one of only three four axel GP40-2 units left running in YN2 paint. 6215 & 6957 are the other two.

Q326 at Wells with 340 axles, 5166 feet. Might be trying Saugatuck hill on their own today.
