GRE (or their contractor) is doing work today on the old CSX bridge over the Grand River, south of Lowell. I hope that bridge is better structurally than it looks! King has enough hoppers to last a few days. Looks like another line of hoppers for King in the Grand Elk yard along US-131; not sure if they are loads or empties.

1245hrs today:

Z151 Marquette Rail doing their interchange at Wyoming Yard. YM inquiring about the "blue and white unit," not sure which one that might be.

Z627 Michigan Shore with MMRR 2019 is doing their pickup at Waverly Yard in Holland, backing to West Wye to begin their trip back to Muskegon.

I would guess that might be TP&W 4056.

I can confirm they had the TP&W unit today. I saw then switching Weeks North of 6 mile road this morning around 8:00 AM. Power was SD40 (Orange) GP40 (TP&W) GP40 (Marquette) and SD40 (Orange). After switching Weeks they had 3 box cars and 3 tanks. Not sure where the rest of the train was. Later around noon I saw the 3 box cars at Vans by Turner Street.

Grand Elk was switching Ann Street in GR around 3:00pm today. At one point they had a line of cars backed up most of the way to the Marsman siding west of Alpine Ave. Looked like 50+ cars, appeared to be mostly empties heading back to the yard. Also left a line of loads for King. Not sure how much of King comes from CSX since the new agreement. I think most of the AMWAY traffic is still CSX.

The pendulum swings back and forth. King gets pissed with CSX, NS and GDLK offer a lower rate and most of the King traffic goes via them for a while. Then King gets pissed at NS/GDLK and they go back to CSX. Rinse and repeat! The Amway traffic has historically been mostly CSX from what I've seen.

King is getting a lot of cars, the GR yard gets jammed up at times. The 2 new silos at King appear to have more than doubled their storage capacity. I've been told they now have 2 milling systems so can mill 2 different products at the same time.
