CN Updates - October 2017

More great mainline action on the south end of the Holly two-track mainline. Local 515 went SB past MP 22.5 where he passed NB early 503 on Track 2 (with the second unit a UP one) at 10:35. Then SB Amtrak 353 came SB on Main 1, passing 503 in Pontiac a bit later.

What is most likely 503 is lined around the Chicago Wye to Bancroft. I'm not sure of its current location. An eastbound is lined up to Clara, also not sure of its current location.

Previously mentioned eastbound is approaching Bancroft. The northbound on the Holly has popped up on the ATCS as well. It's just south of Gaines.

Eastbound with four CNs leading was crossing the diamonds at Durand at 3:15pm. 503 immediately followed, rounding the Chicago Wye at 3:18pm. UP 6253 2nd of 3 engines.

2152 leading 502 solo today. Currently attaching to the rest of its train at Durand before heading south down the Holly. Signals on the Holly are clear for it.

I photographed southbound train 385 at Masonic Road crossing, Fraser, 4:46 p.m. It had CN C40-8 #2125, CN SD75I #5795 and 91 carts!!!!

I saw train 533 switching Moterm Yard, Ferndale, around 7:45 p.m. with a BNSF ES44DC!!!!

Probable 385 SB at Milwaukee Jct finally on the move after having to wait for 2 NS autoracks, a NB CN on the Mount Clemens Sub, and 391 turning on to the Holly Sub. Now CN 2576 is leading L533 around the Sugarhouse.

L503/A451 (whatever it's called today) just went around the Chicago Wye in Durand. CN 2110 & 5319.

A Train 119 heading NB past MP 22.5 at 6:30 pm. Long train and last half were all empty well cars. Not to unusual for a 119 to be largely moving empties back west.

E276 pulling up to East Durand to wait for 397. 276 has CN 2434 solo for power.
Edit: 397 was by Shaftsburg at about 1150. CN 2278, 2130 and an SD75I. 802 axles.

Quick question for any of the more knowledgeable Holly Sub rail fans out there; I caught a train at Watkins Lake Road today heading north leaving Pontiac. The power was GTW 4929 and EJE 658 with 58 cars (mostly empty racks and i beam cars). I know it wasn't 503 because I saw 503 an hour later. Does anybody know what train this was?

At the MTM station, Mt. Clemens I saw one train!!!! The CTC Signals are working! Southbound train 533 with CN SD75I #5724 and 9 loaded "Well Car" sets, 3:24 p.m.

383 CN2656 leads CN8000 and CN5473 is southbound on the Clem approaching the Milwaukee Junction at 6:00AM.

THeres am eastbound CN General freight passing Hagadorn right now in East Lansing. Not sure if a train number or power, I can barely see them in the fog.

Appears to be three separate WB trains in the Durand area. Not sure of #s. Looks like they're holding for an EB just east of Okemos.
