Was one of the other units a barn? 5466 went west on 397 on Tuesday with a barn leading, so I'm interested in knowing if they're still together.

I didn't get a very good look, but I don't think there was a barn.

I photographed a "Fast" southbound train 533, 5:39 p.m. We pulled up just in time and got it at Belden Brick®, Fraser! It had CN SD70M-2 #8913 and one loaded "Well Car" set!!!! There was a "Flashing Yellow" approach signal at the new "CP Beck!" How come it was going this fast (between 40-50 M.P.H.)? "DOT.......ZOOM.......DOT!!!!!"
I thought all trains had to go slow through yellow signals.

Wanted to get an early start for work today, so about 5:10am I caught a Westbound by Helmer Road in Battle Creek.

The train had 39 empty centerbeams up front, with a large block of autoracks in the middle, along with mixed freight. I think the lead locomotive was CN5648. 137 cars total. I remember a while back seeing a freight in B.C. with more than 50 empty centerbeams on the head end too, but forgot to post.

I used to be able to identify train numbers by looking at them, but have lost that touch over the last several years.

Anyone know what train this was? 399?

Thanks.

502 today had CN 5466, CN 8945 and CN 5291.

397 today had CN 5612 and BCOL 4648.

SB work equipment past MP 22.5 at 11:14 am with a track-work type car on the south end, gondolas or flats (hard to see from the house as they are in a slight ditch out back) with a crane in one of them, and at the other end what looked like a cowled GP7 or something that sounds like a Geep and has the radiator/fans of one but looks like a Yukon Pass passenger Alco in body style from years ago. Its number was MPM XXV.

Passing it at Opdyke Road was Train 950 NB returning to Pontiac with 4626.

"UPDATE": I photographed southbound train 385, clearing Masonic Road, Fraser at 5:27 p.m. It had CN C44-9W #2646, CN "ZEBRA COWL" #2410, CN C44-9W #2573 and
115 cars!!!! Now, this train was "Slow" going through the
"Yellow Approach" signal at the new "CP Beck" (unlike yesterday's 533)!!!!

384 zipped through Mt. Clemens at 9:09. CN 3120 & CN 3035 with 125 cars.

I also heard 533, CN 8813, heading back north at around 8 PM or so.

950 came south out of Pontiac at 11:10 am with GTW 4626, CN 5732, and BCOL 4603 with 3 cars. I’m assuming the two road units are for a 119 tonight.

An early 384, CN 2646, is on the Shoreline sub, okay on the east track from Milwaukee Jct. to Nolan. 385 hasn't left Port Huron yet.

385, CN 5778, is finally clear of Milwaukee Jct. I heard them go through Mt. Clemens at around 6:15-6:30ish. Must've been held up by the NS or Conrail.
