CSX Train Location Updates - September 2017

Someone I was talking to at the east end of Wyoming yard at Judd street told me that he saw X369 come into Wyoming yard at roughly 45mph. Anyone able to confirm that? I believe him but I sure as heck would've liked to seen it. If the crew was unfamiliar with the area and no one up in the the east tower, then I guess there wouldn't of been anyone here to stop them.

First of all, there are no "unfamiliar crews" in Grand Rapids, since they are all Grand Rapids crews. Second, there is no place anywhere east of Grand Rapids (until you get to almost Detroit) that trains can go 45 mph. As Alex said, the speeds on certain tracks in Wyoming yard were recently raised, 25 mph on the main line, and 20 on the even lead, among others. He probably saw them going 20-25.

I know it. The guy was an older gentleman and don't get me wrong we had a great conversation, but I think he was a little crazy if he thought they were going that fast through there.

Currently coming in loud and clear on my scanner. Cleared Riverside at 11:53pm. No issues with tulips here. Also no issues with nearby blueberries, corn, soybeans, or apples.
