That NB freight TwisterJay reported above went by MP 22.5 at a little after 2 am. Odd to have a NB freight at that time so I got up and looked at it. It seemed to have one locomotive and a fairly short train, mostly boxcars. I wonder if it was a Local 513, the evening version of 515? The power was an narrow short hood older EMD but it had a road horn on it, might have been 3000 or that series. Not one of the usual locomotives assigned to the locals out of Pontiac. Funny how I sleep through all the normal trains but an unusual one wakes me up.

A SB went past a couple hours later. Maybe 116?

Never heard a NB extra doublestack train like I surmised with that light power drifting south last night. Thought that the one I reported above might be it but wasn't.

At 7:13 am a light engine drifted SB past MP 22.5. Didn't catch the number. Maybe an early 950?

My guess is that there is a 119 extra Double Stack tonight and this power was off of 116? Usually when there is a 119 it is mostly empty well cars headed west.

This might explain everything based on all observations. The light engines that followed Amtrak south yesterday was the CN 2585 & 5930. They went into Moterm where the CN 2585 was cut off and sent south to Milwaukee Jct and then north to rescue 385. The CN 5930 was left at Moterm and used to run those boxcars north last night from Moterm.

Train 515 SB past MP 22.5 at 10:35 am with 4912.

Amtrak 353 past at 10:45 am. Amtrak has a slow order behind my house for some reason this week. I know CN is doing work on either side of the Woodward Crossing in Pontiac (new electrical boxes on each side and a truck was staddling Main 1 during the day yesterday drilling underneath Woodward). Maybe the slow order is in connection with this but that is a mile away and Amtrak going south have passed the work area already.

Train 451 NB past MP 22.5 at noon with 2143, 8001, 5649 and 2596. Probably two of these were from that extra 384 that ran on the Holly yesterday.

Well SD70ACe Fan, since there is no "CN 5930"....this would have to be "GTW SD40-2 #5930!!!!"
─it is in "CN" paint with "GTW" sub-lettering though!

NS 8844 is the sole power on Train 451 which is NB passing MP 22.5 on the Holly at 1:08 pm. Shorter train, more mixed freight than autoracks today.

Train 950 with 4901 SB past MP 22.5 Holly at 7:30 am.

Train 950 returning light to Pontiac at 10:00 am passing MP 22.5. Short day on the Holly.

Train 515 had 4912 as power again and it returned to Pontiac passing MP 22.5 around 5:15 pm.

Train 391 had solo 5476 today and it just went NB past MP 22.5 at 7:30 pm. This is like the third day in a row with only a single locomotive.

What might have been Train 502 went SB past MP 22.5 around 9 pm tonight. Over and out.
