GLC just arrived in Traverse City. One box to drop off and an empty center beam to pick up. At depot now.

I saw the Hi-rail truck going toward town on the Williamsburg branch behind Bob Evans at 12:40. Did he meet up with the GLC train?

They would have made it to Bates well before the train. They usually go up to M72 crossing and get off the rail there then head towards Kalkaska back down to Cadillac.

Well in this case they were inbound to TC, and just about the same time you saw the boxcar train.

They playing a game of chicken? LOL. I'm sure they radio to each other and just get off the rail to let the train pass. Normally when I see them they hi-rail FROM TC to Bates, not TO Traverse City from Bates. Probably came from Kalkaska so it made sense to just hop on in Bates and inspect heading TO town this time.

Owosso crew went back south through mount Pleasant around 3:15. Heard horns but was unable to see them.

Does anybody know about their day to day operations south of Owosso? I know the majority of their traffic is interchanged with CSX in Howell, but aside from that, I don't know what goes on. How much daily traffic goes via AA at Osmer, and how frequently do they operate the line south of Howell to Osmer?

You've had good luck getting 393 8) . Looks like more fertilizer and wood chip cars on the head end.

What's better than having a day off? Catching a train coming into town on my day off.

GLC switching Selma yard now. 396 and 393. Also a railfan in a small green card here looks to be reading a train magazine. Anyone on here?

9:25- headed south with only 4 tie hoppers.

Heard them leave Cadillac, too much fog between my vantage point and the tracks.

Returned to Cadillac at 1055. Figured they were only going as far as McBain with the 4 tie loads.
