Question. Has there been any pattern or norm for Thursdays and Fridays out of Cadillac? I am interested in visiting those two days.

Friday is almost always a run to Clare. Thursday can be a run either way. They are usually switching the yards by 0830.Mackinac Mac wrote:Question. Has there been any pattern or norm for Thursdays and Fridays out of Cadillac? I am interested in visiting those two days.

Southbound thru Howell now with 392 in the lead. Looks like mostly grain cars. Had 4 other engines as well.

Crew was working Ann Pere. Seen them backing into the siding just south of the diamond. Now headed north thru Howell with 392 on the lead. Decent sized train mostly LPG tanks.

393 trailing 397 when headed to Clare (long hood forward). 393 leading when returning to Cadillac. If 393 goes north of Cadillac, it should be leading.Mackinac Mac wrote:Which way does 393 face when it leaves Cadillac currently?

If 393 is facing west. When they go north of Cadillac wouldn't it be facing south? Unless it's turned on the Cadillac wye on the east end of Selma Yard.

You're correct AARR. I forgot 397 would be facing north when they moved to North Yard and the shop.AARR wrote:If 393 is facing west. When they go north of Cadillac wouldn't it be facing south? Re: Great Lakes Central Updates January 2017
I appreciate your posts. I will be especially interested to see what they do tomorrow or thursday as I may come up.
Re: Great Lakes Central Updates January 2017
I did not see the southbound. They must have brought the box car back with them, or left it in Clare. Usually, the only box cars that come this far north are for TC
Re: Great Lakes Central Updates January 2017
Box cars from Ithaca (bagged beans) are sometimes dragged north to Clare rather than leaving it on the Ithaca passing siding for the return trip south.
