Eastbound coal train just arriving into Wyoming yard right now. West Olive must be full.

BNSF 9226 & 9364 in the lead.

Excuse me for the n00b question, but why wouldnt they put it in Waverly then? Too big?
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

Far too big for any track in Waverly. Coal trains won't even fit into one track in Wyoming.

Track inspector/MOW sitting by the old spring switch at the west end of Sunfield.

Also noticed last week the derelict storage cars were gone from the Sunfield siding. When did they disappear? Any plans for the siding?

RN also reports to MOW that D700 is ready to depart Holland.

Most of the cars at Sunfield were sold. Those that weren't are now stored in Wyoming. I would guess the only plans for the siding would be to remove it.

Standing out there by the east end...you can almost hear the whistle of so many meets there over the years. :(

I heard 2-3 summers ago when the tie gang went down the Plymouth sub that Sunfield was scheduled to be rehabbed with new ties but that didn't happen with all the grain hoppers stored there. Then they left and the most recent crop of storage cars came over 12 months ago. Now that they are gone. No sidings between Lake O ch120 ish and Grand Ledge ch99 ish. Of course no CTC there either. I've seen lots of meets there despite all of that however. Oh well. If they remove it that's the way it goes I guess. Not nearly as much traffic on the line to justify it really anymore I suppose.

no spring switches so any meets there would be a lot of work (walking to the head end of the train)

Hy-rail headed east at Hudsonville now. So much for seeing anything on my way to the drug test...

Must not be east of Breton Road in GR, haven't seen it on the ATCS map yet... Are you listening on the super scanner by chance?

I heard the horn and it sounded a lot like the horn on the unit leading the coal train this morning. Couldn't tell if it was heading east or west out of GR though, so I didn't post anything about it.

Yeah, I was listening to the super scanner.

Didn't know you had fixed up that ATCS, I'll have to download it.

I haven't made the kit pubic yet. I got the server up and running on half of the conversation last night. Need to order another digital radio to get the other half of the signal system. Once that happens I will make a kit for the yahoo group. PM me your email and I'll get you the beta kit for the moment.

amtrak1007, if you ever find or make a ATCS that covers the Lansing area on the Plymouth sub and Ensel Yard, let me know.

Thanks
