I was doing some investigation for trail improvements today. Lowell to Greenville and Lowell to Saranac. Went thru Lowell twice. Lots of cars at King. Storage cars from M-21 up to Foreman St. Michigan Wire property at the tracks is now owned by King Milling and Pitsch has all the buildings down and gone. A Google search looks like Michigan Wire has closed the doors. They had a facility on M-21 but it raining pretty hard so I neglected to look and see if it was closed.

Huron & Eastern 3390 & 2668 just brought an empty coal train down to Durand at 9:15am, they are working in the yard now, my guess is they leave with a loaded coal train, can't remember the last time I saw them in Durand on a weekend.

Besides the coal trains I thought HESR runs a train down from Bay City into Durand on Saturday and then goes back to Bay City/Midland on Sunday. Did they stop that practice?

For this coal train, it has me and maybe some of you guys wondering if there'll be a BNSF power move on CN to Durand and head back west toward Lansing on CN as train C765 to Cicero. :?:

HESR has not regularly run a freight to Durand on Saturdays in a few years now IIRC.
