Some rare GLC Saturday action in Cadillac today. Walking the mail route and thought I heard horns to the south. Around 1400 392 and 397 come into town with 3 sand cars. Sounded like they headed out to Yuma shortly afterwards.

Anyone have any info on the large cut of WRRC 3 bay open hoppers that have shown up at LSRC in Saginaw? Obviously stone cars, but I have not seen them previously

It doesn't happen very often but this is not the first time GLC has made an extra weekend run to pick up sand cars

They bought them to phase out some of the beat up older stone cars.

Z127 Tied in Saginaw about 130, CITX 3095 LSRC 5921 And 38 cars made up todays train.

I hope they're not getting rid of those nice rust colored ones.

Most of the former D&M stone hoppers and even the thrall door boxes, including the ones they converted into centerbeam cars, have been scrapped or are being scrapped at omnisource in Bay City. they've cut well over 100 years this year alone.

Mmrr 1216 ( former ms 73) just made it back to north yard in Muskegon from brinks with 5 tanks in tow. Sounds like a bit of paper work then they are going to tie up for the afternoon

GLC didn't get back into Cadillac yesterday until around 1830. Too dark to see what they brought into town, but must have been something for Bates.

A fun time is to be had by all up in Muskegon tonight. The crew went on duty at 10 and finished their paper work by 10:30. They fired up 3885 and 1216 and found that 1216 was running on fumes. They ran 1216 down to henry street and traded it out for 2019. They brought 2019 back to north yard by 12:00.
They finally departed south at 12:30 with 31 cars and I just over 1800 feet or train. No work at bay so it was a straight shot. They just cleared grand haven at 1:30.

Tonight's consist included 12 from Nugent, 1 Fremont, and 18 mixed tanks from both Webb, brinks, and Bayer.

Didn't see the GLC leave or return to Cadillac today, but there is a loaded centerbeam sitting in Selma Yard.
