As of 14:30 EDT, LSRC 326 is ready to go in Alpena. LSRC 1162 lead, 800 trail, looks to be 20-30 cars. Will of course wait for engineer's arrival around 1700.

But grandma's strawberry rhubarb crisp is sooooo good! :D

Alpena: Is is grandma's cooking with trains, or trains with grandma's cooking? Image

Oh wait, it is the latter! Image

Really, they're both fantastic. But there are more desserts on the weekend when the trains are all tied down

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming...maybe

GLC 398 and 399 into Cadillac at 3:15 this afternoon with 1 loaded centerbeam and 1 tank car. Left them in Selma Yard for the night. Selma Yard is pretty empty today, I suspect they will be headed to Williamsburg tomorrow.

I think they left about a dozen covered hoppers in Clare and another loaded centerbeam at the truss plant east of Clare

Late Report: GLC 398 and 399 into Cadillac at 2:15 Tuesday afternoon with 30 cars. Mostly sand and coke hoppers, 2 empty flats for Manton, some poles for McBain and 1 plastics hopper at the rear. Monday's centerbeam was moved to the far west end of Selma Yard.

Lake State put coal empties on the ground last night coming into Saginaw Yard at North Washington Street.

Expect not much running on LSRC for much of the day in that area.

Looking at the photos in the newspaper, no track damage is visible. Has anyone been to the site of the derailment?

Too fast around the curve? :?

Unlikely, all trains move pretty slow in that area. Maybe 10-15 mph would be my guess. I hear there has been more than one derailment in that area do to poor track conditions.

Probably left the tank cars at Ashley's Liquid Fertilizer plant. Rosebush has two possible tank car customers (Superior Fertilizer and the elevator). Sometimes they interchange liquid fertilizer at Alma too.
