CN Train Location Updates: 9/11/11 - 9/17/11

In case you all didn't know, we have sold our house and are buying a new house in Chesterfield - its being built right now and we will be moving in end of Nov / Beginning of Dec. No train in the back yard this time, but the Mt. Clemens sub is about 4 miles away to our West. I will continue to post train observations when I can until we move. Its been fun, but really needed something bigger.

Anyway, Northbound CN train 382 by me at 8:47am with CN 2665 leading, CN 2507 training, 165 cars. First 61 cars were intermodal, the first 25 or so being single and double stacks, with the remaining 35 or so empty. The rest of the train contained the usual very numerous tank cars, with some old coal hoppers mixed in, gons, a few box cars and some covered hoppers (non grain) on this train today.

Next up - Local 529 Southbound, by me at 12:27am with GTW 4932, 22 boxcars, 2 tank cars, 1 covered hopper (not in that order), and 6 single stack intermodal on the tail end to make 31 cars total.

Southbound unit coal train for Consumers Power with two BNSF units, leader in wedge scheme, trailer in Eddie Bauer scheme. Crossed Caniff Ave in Hamtramick @ 1635. going to Erie, Mich.

490 rolled thru Ferndale this morning after Amtrak 351 about 6:45 am. It had CN 8911, IC 2463, and GTW 5854. Looked as though it was slowing down to work at Moterm.
