502 is at Moterm. They are going to meet 382 at Vinewood.

This was posted by David Lang (on michiganrailroads.com Lower Michigan Railroads board): "9:40am - Southbound 524 with CN 8936 (first local I've seen with a road unit), 47 cars. First 3 cars were single stack intermodal, then general freight."

It was posted today, seen yesteday! I don't like this; it isn't good to see a local running with a CN road unit! Could this be the beginning of the end for GTW engines (even in CN paint--I know that CN has been repainting the GTW engines more rapidly anyway) on locals? The GT locos are my favorite! I just hope that these CN engines don't start becoming more frequent on them; 4,300 horsepower does seem like too much for shorter trains !

The 8936 ended up going down to Flat Rock after they stopped to setout the intermodal at East Yard, which I'm sure is why the SD70M-2 was used.

That makes more sense! I guess it's not good to "JUMP" to conclusions! GTW units are becoming less frequent as we all know! Some day they all will be gone!

Usually this train runs back to Port Huron "Light." That seems weird and wastefull! I guess there was no need to do that because the engine went to Flat Rock!

Why would they be wying there train? (Non ITCS unit trailing?)

Might only have one unit on 352 tonight, which creates the need to wye the train. Last time I saw 351 they only had #37 heading back to CHI. I'd say the one unit wonders are going to be more common if engines start to have more mechanical issues.
