104 was southbound with stacks from Moterm and proceeded around the Sugarhouse once Amtrak 352 cleared. Power was 4903.

There were two sets of BNSF power in Pontiac - One tied down on a train at Johnson Avenue (BNSF 9967) and another set of SD70MACs back near the turntable. 5854 was also at Pontiac.

384 and 385 were both at East Yard as of 2015. 5750 is leading 384, and 5721 is leading 385.

491 is at Moterm and arrived there around 2020, and will be doing a pickup. Power is CN 5763 and 2239.

90200 and 34 were on 350/355 today.

Just had a train of Herzog hoppers go down the Holly through Royal Oak @0010 with the IC 1008 solo. They are going to waiting for Amtrak 354 at Clay Avenue.

Markham is CN's main yard for the Chicago area. It's located south of Chicago in Homewood, IL, on the IC. In addition to it's aforementioned function as the primary terminal for Chicago, it also hosts the Illinois Central Woodcrest locomotive shops, the primary repair and overhaul facility for CN's American properties (the Canadian shop is located at MacMillan yard near Toronto, I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong).
Griffith, IN is where the EJ&E crosses the GTW mainline into Chicago. Since acquiring The J earlier this year, CN has started to route several trains off of the Trunk at this location and onto the J for a route around Chicago to the Wisconsin Central lines. On the GTW, Griffith also marks the end of the South Bend Subdivision and the start of the Elsdon Subdivision, which continues on into Chicago.

thanks Gregg... also to the previous poster, those Herzog cars went thru durand before amtrak tonight, had 2 additional engines with the IC. TD 2 told him that he would be taking those to pontiac and then that crew would return with a 747 coal train north. im still waiting in durand for that coal train. and hopefully 491 behind that in reasonable time

Durand just got REAL busy... anyone up near Port Huron take note... just had 2 eastbounds go thru, one of them being 398... and a 3rd is lined up to come thru, im thinking it will be 148.... also anyone down the holly, 490 is working the yard here in durand now. it came in just as the 2nd eastbound was coming thru. they crossed the diamond at the same time. we went from no trains between 11pm and 215am to 4 trains now... amazing! i still believe what i heard earlier, that this 490 crew is taking the train to pontiac then getting off and bringing a 757 north.

That could be the coal empties I saw at Pontiac yesterday on my way home from work, The symbol for that train is usually 767. The 766 from last Wednesday was still parked there as well, but that will be the last report I can give about it, as I'm off all next week. :)

382 and 383 made a crew swap at East Yard, along with a recrew bound for Port Huron around 4pm. Power on 382 was CN 5795 and 2229. 383 had CN 8852 and IC 2724.

385 made it down to Nolan just after 8pm with CN 2447, 5562, and 5370, which was a bit surprising to see.

384 was at East Yard while 385 was making its way down from Haven. Lead engine was CN 5636.

491 had the CN 2677 and 5657. They received a recrew at Woodward Avenue and waited for two trains on the Shared to get through Beaubien and Amtrak 352 and 355 before departing up the Holly around 7pm.

Amtrak 350/355 had 36 and 90200.
Amtrak 352 had 31 and 90225.

This was between 11:30 and noon.

Yes, 383 and X385 have already come down from Port Huron and into Detroit. Best bet is to listen for TD2 giving track authorities at Haven.

Yes, 383 and X385 have already come down from Port Huron and into Detroit. Best bet is to listen for TD2 giving track authorities at Haven. Its really simple. You either like trains or you don't.
There were no trains around 21 Mile Rd between 5pm-7pm :(

385 is at Nolan @2145. CN 5795 leading, should have 2229 trailing.

EDIT: 384 had a track authority from Nolan to Tappan @2214.
