CSX Train Location Updates - Nov 2024

M327 has the articulated auto rack in today's train it appeared to be loaded. There is.also 5 other auto racks that appeared to empty.
The DPU is mid train.

L303-29 started building their train 17 minutes before Mikey posted. I was going to post it was either Y106 or Z151 heading east.

I’m out in Grandville waiting and building a snow fort lol. It’s funny that 303 beat M327 out of Wyoming.

I am predicting M327 will be around 90-170 cars today and it is a good day for a snow fort lol.

Edit: if you count 3 inches of snow is a “good amount” for a snow fort.

Train was parked at Kirk. Pulled in right ahead of P370 and the conductor hitched a ride to the head end after cutting the crossing at the west end of the siding. Apparently they had ride issues with so many crews being shuttled around to get in place.

18:30 - L303-29 parked in the siding at South Lyon waiting on L302.
18:50 - Siding and main at Novi are both empty.

19:30 - Dispatch advised L303 that L313 was headed thru Main St. in Plymouth. L313 has a R/Y/R at the SE of Novi.
19:49 - L313 was told they would pull a grain train to Walbridge after.

19:26 - L302 west through South Lyon. CSXT 568, CSXT 3407.
Green Oak DD at CH39.1 said 579 axles.

Sounds like L302 had a hard time making it up the Salem Hill. L303 had separated their power from the train in anticipation of having to go help L302 up the hill, but they made it on their own. L302 will be leaving their 50 cars for Lansing in the siding at Brighton because they’re not confident that their power will make it to Lansing with the full train.

Thank you for the Kirk info, Pudgy. Also, I am in error for R597-29, he had gone to Grand Junction to pick up C800-27. The usual pusher engines #886 + #7253 were also there but were left behind by C801-27 on 11/27 when they had found bad brake shoes on the #886. C801-27 then had gone to Wells siding & tied down. I don't know if those 2 CSX engines are still in Grand Jct siding waiting for a repair crew or were taken elsewhere.

20:13 - L303 calling clear for Eckles in Plymouth. L313 stopped in the siding at Novi. L313 has CSXT 212 and LSRC 6435 for power.

R597-29 @ 20:26 copied their EC1 to depart Grand Jct Siding mp CG54.0 & proceed eastward to the power plant in West Olive, Mi with CSX engines #3343 + #959 & BNSF engine #5659 & & 128 loaded coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #8446. This was C800-27 that had tied down there yesterday. He had advised the Dispatcher CSX "pusher engines" #886 (has bad brake shoes) + #7253 are still tied down in the east end of Grand Jct.

Crew had said later tonight they will be going to Kirk siding mp CG70.2 to pick up C800-28 that had tied down there last night.
