L303-19 @ 11:25 Grand Rapids, Mi job briefing with the RN Dispatcher: CSX engines #4052 + #874 & ?? cars. Job briefing was weak & static (probably using their hand-set). He's building his train.

Job briefing always done from locomotive cab or over the phone from office. Information conveyed is a specific list of items covered from multiple sources, so most crews use a cheat sheet filled out from those sources to get the briefing info to dispatch. Is required by the rules to include all crew members, plus the loco radio has the required power and DTMF to communicate clearly with dispatch towers. Possible from time to time have bad radios or microphones, but more likely that via the super scanner, getting interference that scrambled the coverage.

He’ll take Grand Jct siding mp CG54 & tie down.

Conductor will have to go to the rear of the train to inspect. He has BNSF engine #6045 & 130 empty coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #5919 & BNSF engines #6124 + #8433 headed for Grand Jct siding mp CG54.
