Amtrak P370-18 @ 21:48:11 am EB on Bangor's Live Cam Monroe St crossing mp CG 60.72 with 4 passengers off at the station mp CG 60.5; IDTX engine #4628 & 4 cars (3 Horizons + AmCafe).
Looking at the Bangor cam, it looks like the additional Horizon is a cafe/business class car (same as the Amfleet cafe/business car already in the consist). Did anyone else get a good enough view to confirm this?
If they indeed have two cafe cars in the train, does anyone know why? I am suspecting they needed additional business class seating so they just added another cafe car. I travelled with a party of 3 on Saturday and we were bumped from Business to Coach. We bought our tickets back when P370/371 was running with Superliners. The Supers have 28 business class seats, while the Amfleets have 14 I think. I assume the equipment change was why we were downgraded.

It was hard to tell both day and night what was the 4th car was. You think it was another AmCafe car?

Yes, the rear Horizon was definitely a half Business Class half Cafe car, with the business class end adjoining the BC end of the Amcafe in front of it. If Chicago assembles the train right, the cafe tables should be closest to the coaches, then business class behind. I imagine it is correct that this fills out the sold capacity for business class around the Holidays. I’ve seen the two cafe car = more/the right amount of business class used on other trains, notably the Blue Water, many times before. Remember the old days when Amfleets table cars were “cafe” or “Amcafe” and the Horizon table cars were “dinette?” (And Business Class was “Custom Class???”)
I don’t think Ive ever been on a Superliner with Business Class configuration. Is the BC cabin on a lower level? Or are there partitions on the upper level somewhere to divide up one car?
