Re: CSX Train Location Updates - July 2021
Amtrak P371-05 @ 08:21 westward reported by the DD mp CG91.9 with 16 axles & 307 ft. IDTX engine #4630 & 3 SuperLiners.
D706-05 @ 08:32 eastward was reported by the DD mp CH104.3 with 316 axles & 4,869 ft. CSXT engines #5459 + #3252 & 76 cars. If he also has CSXT engines #4037 + #3069, he would have 73 cars (axle math doesn’t work out for 3 engines).
Amtrak P371-05 @ 08:38 westward reported from mp CG108.9 (DD reported was broken up).
Note: At this time still nothing at all has been heard for Q327, and, D700 didn't run by Bangor overnight & not sure if he was ever on duty.

Re: CSX Train Location Updates - July 2021
4016 that came in on W009 has been used for D708 along with 8400. 4037 has been a D705/D706 worker. All in the last week.Dan Cluley wrote: ↑Mon Jul 05, 2021 7:59 amTypically they have 2 engines at Lansing. It has been 4037 & 8400 recently. Plus the FRA train is still here, so that will need an engine at some point.
Curious when they'll have that FRA train continue and if they'll put 4016 back with it.
Doesn't seem like 4037/3069 are with him if the axle count is 316. That works perfectly with a 76 car count. 316 - 12 axles for 2 units = 304 ÷ 4 for each car = 76. I imagine 5459+3252 are both 6.

All 4 of the mentioned units are 6 axle… so he either has 73 or 76 cars depending on whether the other 2 units are there. There isn’t a way to tell just from the axle count which it is.bluewonderrails wrote: ↑Mon Jul 05, 2021 9:04 am4016 that came in on W009 has been used for D708 along with 8400. 4037 has been a D705/D706 worker. Re: CSX Train Location Updates - July 2021
The FRA train crews get one week on for every three off. I imagine that last week was their week off. Between that and today being the federally observed holiday for July 4 and they will be flying back to Lansing tomorrow AM most likely.
During the week off the equipment is serviced and calibrated. This is why it’s been seen in various places in Ensel Yard and at times separated.

The 316 axle count math does work for 4 six axle engines if they were in the consist:
(316 total axles) - (24 engine axles) = 292 axles
292/4 = 73 cars
I can only assume what the "possible" additional engine numbers could be based on notes kept for what power has arrived & departed Grand Junction & other posts made.

There is an empty welded rail train in Novi. I think it’ll be heading back to Plymouth eventually.

Q326 clear Grandville. Good leader and consist, matching paint. Pretty sure the trailing unit is the one O gauge engine in the case at Riders Hobby Shop.

Q326-05 @ 13:34 while getting yarding instructions from Rouge, Rouge had said Q327-05 was abolished yesterday & most likely all 4 engines will be going back to Chicago on tomorrow's Q327-06. Those CSXT engines would be #315 + #3347 + #3277 + #4536.
