Something was on the rails in TC. Judging by the sand at the grade crossings it doesn't look today fresh, more like yesterday.

GLC 399 and 395 return to Cadillac's Selma yard at 1450 with 3 sand hoppers, 3 coke hoppers, 2 loaded centerbeams, 1 tank car and 3 plastics hoppers. Heard them leave towards Clare a little before 0900.

Were they driving or riding a flatcar?

Whatever, who would care if there is no railroad they were spraying.

3 empty centerbeams are spotted on the eastern edge of Selma Yard in Cadillac. GLC headed north around 1000. Didn't see what they took.

GLC was in Traverse City today with two centerbeam loads, arrived about 12:15 at the train station. Came back from Williamsburg with three empties (must have left one at Amerihart Monday when they were in TC). We are now at 13 loads to Amerihart this month for the TC branch. Can we break the record set last month of 14?

"who would care" .... really
well, if your a hi-rail-rubber wheeled railroad MOW vehicle nerd, this type of info would give you a heads up on its incoming status.
might be just the ticket to hike on down trackside and catch a photo or six.

Thanks for posting Raildudes dad

GLC left Cadillac at 1035 towards Clare with 3 empty centerbeams, 1 plastics hopper, 3 tank cars, 4 empty coke hoppers, 10 empty tie hoppers, 9 sand hoppers, 7 plastics hoppers and 3 tank cars. Too far away to read loco numbers.

GLC returns to Cadillac at 1745 with 1 plastics hopper, 2 coke hoppers, 7 sand hoppers and 17 ballast hoppers.

Came thru Kalkaska about 1600, the lights and bells on the GLC at M-72 were running continuously even though no train in sight. At least all the traffic was stopping and taking a good look before crossing.
