There is a HD depressed center flat carrying a large electrical transformer spotted at the ITC substation off Keystone Road south of Traverse City. GLC spotted the car in the past few days but I am not sure when.

Grand Elk is currently working at Hughart Yard. They just brought a train up from Kalamazoo and are now doing an engine swap at the house. I don't know if they have cars to take back south with them or not. If I heard right they are running as GDLK105.

LSRC/ HESR Observations today 4/29/2013

702 was south through Saginaw around noon today. They had WGCR 9519 and CMGN 8804 for power. 740 had the 2014 for power, they returned from Central Warehouse shortly after 702 passed through. The LSRC Paines Job had 1177 and one of the 800 series units for power, too far away to see what number it was, they were by Genesee Ave. around 4PM this afternoon.

Little bit of a power swap today for HESR the 740 had 3852 and the 800 job had 3826/2014/3865 this morning as Justin said 2014 went back to Bay City and 3852 must have went to the thumb. Also 3867 took the day off in Reese later joined by 3866 that hauled in a unit CSX grain train to Gera/Richville Star of the West.

HESR's power today. To start the 810 job has 3866 again, 800 job has 3826/3865, 740 has 2014 and 702 has 9519/8804 through Bridge Port and enroute to Durand.

I guess the 800 job worked Central warehouse today then, I saw them crossing Jefferson St. with them GTW boxcars in tow, unless 740 and 800 swapped power again.

I have heard that 740 is not run some days due to low traffic levles so it would make sense if 800 does 740's work once in a while

GLC ran the petosky branch today. 397 and 4 plastics hoppers. Also 2 loaded center beams in Clare that will probably go to TC later this week.

I am not sure on how often they "don't" run, it seems they are regular 5 days a week, sometimes an extra when sugar beet season is in. I am sure there have been days though, or they have to pick up a grain train to take to Auburn and don't have the time to switch the warehouse, so 800 will do it, just my thoughts on the deal, gotta keep them customers happy either way!

GLC has MOW equipment working on the TC branch. Just saw a tie crane heading east/north at Bunker Hill Rd.

HESR 701, HESR 2661, is ready to leave Durand with 55 cars.

Observations from today 5/1/2013

702 had 2661 leading 2668 and 3868 south to Durand, through Saginaw around noon. CORP 3826 and HESR 3865 worked Central Warehouse, they headed to Central Warehouse about 11:30ish, and came back towards Genesee Yard after 702 cleared. Saw both trains from Jefferson St. while doing work for City of Saginaw.

HESR 2668 and 2661 currently enroute to Midland, just left Bay City about 10-15 min ago with 17 cars. Per Evan's post earlier, they must have made a big cut in Saginaw.

Yet another sizable grain train to be handed over to LSRC from the HESR. The 800 job had 70ish cars sitting at Towerline rd. power for todays train looks to be 8802/3865/3852. This train plus one from the Delphi sub and the one that derailed on the Paines must make for a decent amount of cars in Saginaw yard and should translate into more or bigger trains to Flint on LSRC. The 810 brought in the train off the Delphi sub. around two yesterday power was 3867/3866.
