Interesting article that breaks down the cost of storing crude in rail cars for months until the price or demand comes back up.

The glut of crude, including millions of barrels stored in ships, didn't stop them from raising gas prices 50 cents a gallon overnight. Thursday prices averaged $1.39 and today they are $1.89.

As the U.S. economy begins to reopen, demand for gasoline is increasing.
