From the Amtrak Unlimited forums:
Looking at Table 34, the “Supplemental Project List for a Proposed Infrastructure Bill” section on page 40, there are a lot of interesting things:

Amfleet replacement: estimated $1.45bn, construction starts 2020, lasts 3 years.

Superliner replacement: estimated $1.55bn, starts 2022, lasts 5 years.

P42DC replacement: $466m, starts 2019, lasts 3 years.

CUS High-Level Mail Platforms: estimated $70m, started 2016, lasts 7 years

Chicago Terminal ROW Acquisition & Improvements: estimated $500m, starts 2019, lasts 3 years.

“Various” corridors: estimated $20bn, starts 2019, lasts 10 years. Areas affected: Midwest, South, and West

Restoration of DET-TOR: No data

Acquisition of S-Line (Petersburg-Raleigh): No data

ROW Acquisition/Improvements NOL-Mobile: No data

ROW Acquisition Auburndale: No data

Heartland Flyer Extension to Newton and Additional Frequency: No data

Personally, I’m thrilled to see Amtrak investigating their own corridor into CUS. It is very long overdue and should help on-time performance immensely for Michigan and east coast-bound long-distance trains. I’m also highly curious as to what the “various corridors” are. I don't know if it’s including the Black Hawk and Quad Cities (since it’s an Illinois-funded show) and the DET-TOR service is listed separately. Any ideas?

Also, does anyone have any idea where 2nd Ave Yard is in Seattle? There’s multiple references to a potential purchase by Amtrak for it but I can’t find it.

Not sure how DET-TOR would work. There really isn't a viable track connection between the current station & the tunnel. And "Restoration"? Historically CHI-TOR ran via Port Huron; which still makes the best sense track-wise. Maybe if you changed the Wolverine to end at Port Huron rather than Pontiac you could meet the International, providing a connection to TOR for DET (although in all likelyhood, it'd be a bus)

Edit: I believe 2nd St. is the current Amtrak/Sounder yard, which may be owned by Sound Transit.

There is a connection between 25th and Roosevelt in Detroit that allows for travel directly to and from the tunnel.

Remember, MC station is also viable, as Ford is maintaining four passenger tracks for the return of train service.

If you're coming from the north. I doubt Amtrak's full run will be just DET-TOR; but more likely CHI-DET-TOR; which would involve a reverse move to use that connection.
