A new New Orleans intermodal facility is now open for truck to rail containers operations. According to the article, it can handle 160,000 20 foot containers a year. The New Orleans Public Belt Railroad is the line that's operating it and will be interchanging with the six Class 1's that it connects with in the city. CN talks a little bit about it, saying that it will help "expand our inland reach", expanding business to Chippewa Falls, Indianapolis, Detroit, and elsewhere.
So perhaps more business coming soon to the Indiana Rail Road?
