(UPDATED 6:30 p.m. Thursday) -- There will be no Rail Fest celebration next September and, possibly, in coming years, but the reason is not lack of funding, Chairman Don Kurre announced Thursday.
Kurre called the North Platte news media with the surprising announcement that the festival is cancelled after he met with key organizer Dave Harrold.
