Where to go next summer????

Unread post by CSXBOY »

Hey guys, I want to go to somewhere next summer that is less than 5 hours away that has at least 45 trains a day and lots of things to do within 2 hours away. I live in Livonia MI I already been to Chesterton, Fostoria Deshler, and Rochelle. I am trying to find something in New York state and something like near Erie PA. I have a family so I need lots of things to in the area.

There is always anywhere around Chicago. Further east it gets kinda sparse as far as population is concerned within 5 hours of Michigan because of the mountains
. Maybe Toronto if you can go international?

I've heard good things about Selkirk, but it's a lot easier to get there if you can cut through Ontario. What about Marion or Berea (Ohio)?

Just an FYI, you can get an enhanced stare id or lisence In Michigan for free or not that much, and it is much easier than getting a passport. You can't use it to fly, but you can use it to get into/ out of the country by land, sea, rail, or I suppose foot.
The more you know.

Especially helpful if you want to visit Canada, but don't have a passport. Or so I've heard.

It's easy to get into Canada. Getting back into your own country can be tough if you are an American.

Go to work next summer, so you can save enough money to go further in two summers.

I'd suggest checking with your parents and make sure they are ok with you posting on a public forum your name, city, and a schedule of what sounds like when your house will be empty throughout the summer... not wise.
