Good their isn't any major injuries or death. Hopefully AMTK 185 will just need some big fixes and get back on track, no scrapping.

The train in question was Amtrak's northbound Carolinian, which seemed to be running with the standard consist of 1 Genesis (185), a heritage baggage (1700 series) and 5 or 6 Amfleet cars. Fortunately, no deaths or serious injuries. Still, another unfortunate stain on rail travel and another Amtrak consist of equipment that will now need to be taken out of service for repair.

Interesting that the state highway patrol was guiding this trucker in his attempted turn onto the parallel highway. I wonder what ramifications will result....
