Where oh where did the F units go?

Unread post by MQT1223 »

Does anyone know where the last pair of former Erie Mining F9A's that left Minnesota last week ended up? I heard the Vermilion Valley Railway on the Illinois/Indiana border could be getting them but so far I have heard nothing else. They were the last INTACT F units to leave the former Erie Mining tracks. Most of the F9B units that were owned by the railroad were cut up on site. The railroad also bought and owned the last Baldwin locomotive ever built which to me is fascinating. Their roster had just about anything from any of the big builders except GE and Lima. Very diverse roster.

They were split up between two different trains before leaving the Duluth area. 4214 should have gotten to get Chicago area sometime yesterday afternoon with 4210 getting to Chicago last night or right about now as long as it made it right through Fond Du Lac.

GRHC - you know every night I can imagine he is in front of his computer screen sitting in his underwear swearing profusely and drinking Blatz beer combing the RailRoadFan website for grammatical errors.
