New Mexico Semaphore Pics

Unread post by mikerm19 »

Hello everyone, I'm still alive! I'm also still stuck in New Mexico. I miss Michigan a lot, that's for sure.

Anyway, my parents recently took a road trip up to Colorado, and stopped to take some pictures on my request. These babies are still standing up around Wagon Mound. Thought you guys might enjoy some pictures taken about 3 weeks ago.

Note: Yes, the future of this line is still hanging in the balance. The state backed out of the earlier deal to buy it. Not sure what's going to happen next, but at least Amtrak still makes some use of it twice a day.

Amazing photos of the last operational Semaphores on the former ATSF mainline, and the last one's on a Class 1 railroad. Need to get out and photograph them before they fall.
