And no, not just because Bailey Yard* is there. This is the weeknd for Railfest 2008, and Union Pacific has sent Challenger 3985 and four of the Heritage diesels for the festivities. That means you could see -both- of the surviving Challengers (out of 125 total built) in one location, since the second is a museum piece there.
This is the beginning of a 22-day, 1750-mile outing for 3985, which will make day-long stops in four locations in Iowa and Minnesota before returning home. Here's the full schedule:
