Photoshop Elements 7.0 Question

Unread post by Crow T Robot »

I have been using Corel Paintshop Pro x3 but was able to get Elements 7.0 relatively cheap and wanted to try it out. One question is there a way to edit RAW files without having to go through the conversion first to JPG? Tried loading 5 RAW files and it went straight to an editor/converter to adjust color, saturation, etc... But when I loaded JPG files they go straight to the main editing program. Is there a way around this? Corel allows you to go directly to the main editing program.. Is version 8.0 / 9.0 any different?

If you're skipping the initial editing in the RAW convertor, you're missing out big time. You might as well just shoot jpeg.

There's no way that I know of to bypass the raw editor in photoshop, and no reason I can think of for doing so IMO.

in order to get PSE to handle raw files you have to get a plugin from adobe called camera raw the trick is you have to find the version that has your camera model listed otherwise PSE wont do it right
