If I brighten this a bit more would that fix the problem?

Yes, you might also try bumping up the contrast as it's a little flat.

I think there might be too much sky.
As far as exposure, I'd say add some more contrast, but it really isn't too bad.

Use your curves tool and add a vibrance layer and you'll get it to pop like it should.

Submitted the below picture my guess is to much saturation but I was wondering is it worth fixing would high sun be the next problem?
