Re: Composition Balance
Too much dead space in the upper right corner. Also not sure you can get by with the wide angle look.

Re: Composition Balance
Good advice, Thank you.
After wiggleing and bending it a bit I was able to level it better and get rid of some dead space.
THIS is the reason people argue about SLIDE and FILM Vs. Digital.
You would be hard pressed to get this result ( LENS CORRECTION) from a slide with out aid of a computer.

It makes no difference what source the image is from (digital or film), the same thing can be achieved in photoshop once the image is loaded.JUST AARON wrote: THIS is the reason people argue about SLIDE and FILM Vs. Digital.

GRHC - you know every night I can imagine he is in front of his computer screen sitting in his underwear swearing profusely and drinking Blatz beer combing the RailRoadFan website for grammatical errors.

Re: Composition Balance
That's true, it's a tool to use to help correct a photo if you don't have the means to shoot it with a 50mm or larger lens to illuminate the wide angle distortion or the funds to buy a Tilt Shift lens.JUST AARON wrote:Well, That's why I said Without aid of a computer. LoL.

Re: Composition Balance
To me the distortion corrention looks overdone. The station is now flaring the opposite direction. It's a good enough shot, I just don't care for it, you are a lot better then that shot. Not meant as disrespect at all.
Re: Composition Balance
I hear you. This kind of gets into what GTW Hogger was talking about in the other thread. I really did not want to do all that crap to that shot. But it was an RP Reject without doing it. I like haveing my photos on RP, So to get this one on, this is what I ended up with. Again we are back to ART or Photography? I like the location so much that I was willing to do this to it. I feel lucky as hell to have it accepted at all what with the north bound out of the sun / Shady nose and all.
