Cropping issue

Unread post by MDH »

I'm at a bit of a loss with this one -

1st effort:

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject. ... =518863669

2nd effort:

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject. ... =706597080

Personally I think either one works and the original is close to how I composed it but now I just wonder what they think is "bad" about it? Any thoughts?

I have more room all around on the original - half thought about going a little wider than the first but I'm guessing they might want tighter than the second. However much tighter and it loses the point of the picture (and other issues start becoming more apparent)... so if that's the answer f-it, their loss.

:?:

Thanks,
Michael

I think it is because of the telephone poles on the left of the picture.

Ok, I got it to come up.

Looks a bit over exposed to me. Especially the 1st version. As for cropping. The Shadow on the second unit isn't helping But other than that. :?:

Maybe just let it lay for a month or two and try agin.

Rule-of-thirds. Cut off just above the poles and the short tree and maybe a little on the right then to aim for a 2:3 ratio.
