ImageNight Moves by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

NYSW SD40-2 #3018 pauses between moves at the east end of the Susquehanna's yard in Binghamton while the conductor climbs back aboard. #3018 was originally built as a high nosed unit for the Southern, and was sold to Big Dog Lines in the early 2000s before being chopped and sold to the Susquehanna. It is one of just two SD40-2s rostered by the railroad. 9/30/2016

Image2012 Santa Train by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Canadian National used to run a very classy Santa Train every December, stopping at most of the major yards in the US so employees could bring their kids to meet the big guy. For many years, the locomotives used for this train were their sleek pair of Illinois Central E9s. Painted in an attractive silver and black paint scheme, these classic “E Units” were built in 1949 and were the epitome of the Art-Deco era of streamlining. The Santa Train is seen here at River Rouge, splitting the signals after having just crossed the Rouge River. 12/1/2012

Amtrak's Bluewater is running a little bit late as it emerges from a "Fluffy White Death" squall at the west end of CN's "Fluffy White Death" Yard in Millet. The train would meet Q122 around the corner at CP Mill. 2/2/2025

Marquette Rail's Z151 enters the Grand Rapids Yard Limits at North Park on a very hot July day in 2013. Conductor Mike has #3001's air conditioner set to "high cool". 7/14/2013

ImageLeaser Era GLC by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Great Lakes Central departs CN rails for the former Ann Arbor mainline at Pitt, just south of Durand. The Annie once paralleled the GTW north here to the depot, where they crossed the Holly Sub and the Flint Sub. This mostly redundant trackage and its associated diamonds were removed in the 70s and the Annie was granted trackage rights on the GTW from here to Owosso. Leased GMTX GP38-2s #2663 and #2675 were well-liked by the railroad, which would purchase 5 of their own GP38-2s within the next couple of years to supplement the aging GP35s. 10/3/2010

ImageStacks On The Pere Marquette by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

For about a 6 month period in late 2010-early 2011, the Grand Rapids and Plymouth subdivisions hosted a pair of Chicago-Detroit intermodal trains. These trains, which ran as Q195 and Q196, operated to and from CSX's facilities at 59th St and Livernois, as I recall. On some days they were very short, and on others they would be quite long. A short Q196 is seen here rolling off the miles west of Hudsonville along Chicago Drive. The opening of CSX's new North Baltimore facility in Ohio subsequently saw these trains shifted south to the B&O. They were neat while they lasted! 2/18/2011

After meeting the Bluewater at CP Mill, Q122 gets moving east-bound on the Flint Sub behind a pair of CN EMDs as the "Fluffy White Death" flies. 2/2/2025

ImagePick A Model, Any Model by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

The Huron & Eastern "Rocket", train 702, has just arrived in Durand and is pulling around the Port Huron wye for headroom before backing into the yard. Though the Central Michigan had ceased to exist about a year prior, the railroad continued to operate and look much the same as it had for the previous two decades. An all-CMGN consist of both C30-7s, a GP38AC, a B30-7A B unit, and the lone B30-7 provides the power for the long train on this day. 10/22/2005

ImageWaiting @ Plaster by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Marquette Rail Z151 and CSX N956 both wait at Plaster Creek for a light into the yard. N956 had just gotten their power from the house and was getting ready to back down the main to their train. GLLX #3003 and a pair of GP38-2s wait on the Sunnyside Lead. In the foreground are the now-removed Maggie's Lead and switch to the old piggy back ramps. 3/16/2013

ImageHogsmeade by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

While not a train in the conventional sense, the Hogwarts Express at Universal Studios in Orlando is technically flanged wheel on steel rail. I suppose the oddest part is that the “wheels” on the locomotive don’t move when the train is moving. Either way, this is a cool way to travel between parks at Universal. 2/18/2025

ImageBuchannan by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

The two locomotive models that changed railroading forever, the AC4400CW and the SD70MAC, lead L303 out of Grand Rapids along Buchannan Ave. 12/28/2024

ImageKent City Run Around by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Marquette Rail's Z151 is running around a few cars after doing some industry work between Kent City and Sparta. The rest of the train can be seen sitting north of town in the distance. In order to provide the best service to their customers, the railroad would routinely work customers that would normally be only worked north-bound, south-bound, and vice versa. This was the only time I can remember seeing them use the short run around in Kent City. 1/3/2009

ImageSmoking In Ingersoll by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Ontario Southland RS18u #182 has finished its switching in Ingersoll and is now leaving town for points west. Unfortunately, it sounds like the Alco/MLW era on the OSR might be coming to an end here in the near future. 5/3/2013

ImageNear The End by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

The old Fisher Body plant in Wyoming was still going strong in this April 2008 view. The plant was busy enough for NS to have 1st and 2nd shift yard jobs who exclusively pulled and spotted boxcars. The writing was on the wall, though, and GM would shut the plant down in 2009. That was also NS's excuse to pull the plug on the Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo branches, leasing them out to Watco's Grand Elk in early 2009. In busier times, GP40-2 #3040 is shut down for the weekend with a string of auto parts boxes ready to go come 1st shift Monday morning. While this trackage is all still here as of early 2025, the plant was demolished several years ago. 4/4/2008

ImageRe-Routed Coal Loads by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

In what was a very odd move, a pair of BNSF SD70MACs, still in BN "Executive" colors, lead loaded CSX coal train N910 up the grade at Fox. This train of Powder River coal, which was destined for Consumer's JH Campbell plant in West Olive, would normally run up the Grand Rapids sub to Holland and continue north to West Olive. The details are fuzzy to me now, but I believe the train was re-routed "the long way" via Toledo and Plymouth because of a derailment on the NS near Porter, IN where the GR sub connects to the NS Chicago district. I want to say this was the only time I ever saw this happen. Also, I absolutely loved those cream and green MACs with the classic BNSF logo on the nose! 12/22/2007

ImageClassic GRE by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Technically late-Spring but feeling very much like Summer, its a hot and humid afternoon as the Grand Rapids Eastern heads west towards its namesake. The crew only had work for Amway in Ada on this day, it appears. Good 'ole GP9 #24 was still the only power on the GRE back then. 6/7/2011

Image"Even For 2 Track" by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Marquette's Z151 is on CSX rails as they roll through the Plaster Creek interlocker and into Wyoming Yard. Using the Even lead, they will yard their train on 2 and 6 tracks, then pick up their outbound in tracks 8 and 10. In the foreground is the now seldom-used engine house lead. 1/4/2025

ImageGrinding & Climbing by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

After shooting the 11:00 crude loads, we booked it south to a location near "Railfan Rock". After climbing a hill, we were surprised to hear the sound of another train, working up-hill from the east. With an SD40-2 in notch 8 on both ends, a tailings train slowly ground past us, on its way up to the Northshore's Tailings Pond. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw Difco side dump cars! 6/10/2023

ImageSD60s by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

A pair of CSX's original 10 SD60s, #8705 and #8700, are working hard with Q334 through the fresh powder on Grand Rapids' east side. 2/12/2011

ImageL500 by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

It's almost April, but there is still a bit of "Fluffy White Death" on the ground as L500 backs into Durand Yard with a cut of cars for the Huron & Eastern. Venerable GP9R #4619 was a regular on the Flint-based locals in the 2009-2012 era. As far as I know, it is one of the few GP9Rs still on CN's roster as of 2025. 3/26/2011

On one of its last trips south before being repainted into G&W's "Heritage" scheme, MQT #2042 and a trio of SD40s lead the Z train south at Casnovia on a bitterly cold January day. 1/4/2025

ImageNorth @ Fuller by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Marquette Rail's Z151 knocks down the signal for Fuller diamond as the train crosses Indian Mill Creek. During this era, MQT had 5 GP38-2s leased from GATX, but it was pretty unusual to see the Z train running with just a pair of them. GMTX #2676 was a former Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines unit that was built with an extended cab to accommodate dual control stands. 3/15/2008

Image8 & Sand by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

An SD70AC-ES40DC pair are pulling as hard as they can as they lift a heavy L303 out of the Thornapple River valley at "Fluffy White Death" Ave. Lead unit #4735 is a very recent Huntington rebuild that was still so clean that you could've ate off of it. 3/14/2025

ImageMorning @ North Yard by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

With a Geep on each end of the train, Michigan Shore's day job prepares to leave North Yard. They will be working Webb Chemical on the old GTW line, which has a track arrangement necessitating having a unit on the front and rear. Wished #3839 had been facing south, but oh well.

At right is the former Pere Marquette/Chesapeake & Ohio engine house. Long-since devoid of locomotives, today it houses MOW equipment for the MS. 12/14/2012

L303 rumbles over the Thornapple River behind a recently-rebuilt SD70AC that was so clean you could eat off of it. They're only "new" once! The flared radiator SD70s are the best looking locomotives CSX owns, in my humble (but correct) opinion. 3/14/2025

ImageSpirit of Grafton by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

I was pretty disappointed when L303's crew informed Rouge Tower that their SD70MAC wasn't going to be a good leader, and #500 was swapped to the lead instead. I suppose it all worked out though, as the recently-rebuilt MAC will be around for a long time, while this CW44AH is not long for the world before it also gets rebuilt. Hard to tell from this angle, but #500 is the "Spirit of Grafton". 3/10/2025

A pair of AC4400CWs are in full dyno as they descend the hill at Fox with 90 cars of black diamonds on N897, back in August of 2009. West Olive was getting around 1 train of eastern coal per week on average around this time. 8/4/2009

ImageLSRC RS2 #469 by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Lake State Railway #469 sits dead and drained along with RS3m #974 on one of the finger tracks around the turntable in Saginaw. And that's the "Forty Six Nine", not "Four Sixty Nine", numbered for the year and month it was purchased by the Detroit & Mackinac. The unit is currently the last D&M Alco left on LSRC's property, owned by Waymore Power. While it doesn't seem to be in any danger of being cut up, it doesn't look like there is any hope of it being restored anytime soon, either. One of the former Bluewater NRHS Chapter's VIA dome observation cars sits at right, which has since been sold. 10/16/2009

ImageEssexville Empties by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

E945 charges up the hill at Fox behind a nearly-new BNSF SD70ACe and a leased CEFX AC4400CW. The Essexville coal trains were averaging around 3-4 loads per week, along with a like number of empties, during this era. Certainly added some nice variety to the Plymouth Sub! 3/29/2008

ImageSwitcheroo by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

An east end remote switcher, probably Y191, works on the Old Even lead on a sunny winter day in 2006. Several RCPHG4s like #9241 called Grand Rapids home for many years, with every RCO job using one. CSX did try some of their RC sleds up here for a time, but they had a tendency to derail on the "Fluffy White Death" and ice in the winter. The RCPHG4s were former B30-7 and B36-7s that had their traction motors removed and remote control equipment. Any locomotive could be MU'd to them and subsequently operated remotely. As time went on, the expense of maintaining these "dead weight" units became more than CSX was willing to tolerate, and the RC equipment was removed and retrofitted to conventional locomotives. 1/21/2006

ImageMETX F40C #610 by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

The recent good news that F40C #614 was donated to IRM reminded me that the rest of the fleet wasn't so lucky. Here #610 sits in the back lot at National Railway Equipment's Dixmoor shops, having been retired in 2004. It was finally cut up when NRE closed Dixmoor in 2020. Always thought that a pair of these units would've made pretty spiffy executive/excursion train power for a railroad. 1/3/2008

ImageGeep 60s by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Four examples of the penultimate in EMD's GP series, three GP60M-3s and a standard GP60, rest between assignments at BNSF's yard in Gallup. BNSF rebuilt all of their GP60Ms to Dash 3 specs in the late 2010s, but as of yet has not embarked on a similar program for their standard cab GP60s.

While ATSF enginemen adored the GP60, the same cannot be said for the GP60M. They and their B40-8W contemporaries from GE were bought to be premier, high-speed intermodal power, where maintaining high speeds was more important than low-speed pulling power. However, the practice of placing the new North American Safety Cab on a 4 axle locomotive was new to both builders. The result was the weight on these speedsters was unbalanced, resulting in a very rough ride as the wound up being very front-end heavy. Crews also complained about the desktop controls and heavy vibrations (this was before isolated cabs). In less than a decade, they would both be bumped from premier assignments by C40-8Ws, C44-9Ws, SD75Ms, and other contemporary 6 axle models. These days, both of these former Supefleet 4 axle models can be found on locals and yard jobs, a service for which they are most unsuited. 4/15/2018

I also like CSX flared radiator SD70's.

Looks like flyash cars on the headend. Used to be good business for CMGN / LSRC.

I wish if they were going to keep one of the original RS2's it was 466 because it was the first one ever built.

When I first read this I thought you said "insulted" and not unsuited. Both are fitting :)

ImageBooster by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

In the early 1980s, Burlington Northern was in need of additional motive power. For whatever reason, they also decided they didn't need cabs! BN ultimately wound up with a fleet of 120 GE B30-7A B units. There is much contention in the railfan community as to whether these are designated "B30-7A" or "B30-7AB". GE officially listed them as "B30-7A", but several railroaders swear up and down that the blue cards read "B30-7AB". Either way, these unique little boosters could be found all across the BN system doing just about anything. They differed from standard B30-7s in that they used a 12 cylinder FDL engine to achieve 3,000 horsepower, instead of the 16 cylinder model. The result was a more fuel-efficient locomotive.

By the late 1990s, the fleet was approaching 20 years old and BNSF, like the other Class 1s at the time, was looking toward retirement of its Dash 7 fleet. Central Michigan Railway was shopping for power at the same time, and a deal was struck with BNSF for the purchase of 3 B30-7ABs, along with a lone B30-7 and a trio of C30-7s. 2 of the units wound up in Central Michigan's new gray and red scheme, becoming CMGN #2001 and #2002, while the third remained BN green. They fit in nicely with CMGN's existing U23Bs, and worked for the next decade hauling freight, coal, and grain trains through the Michigan countryside. By the end of the 2000s, they were showing their age, and Rail America transferred EMDs from other properties to replace them. After a brief stint in lease service on neighboring Lake State Railway, all 3 were sold to a railroad in Mexico. South of the border, they were equipped with cabs and continue to work there to this day.

During Durand Railroad Days 2006, train 702 (now operated by Huron & Eastern) arrived from Bay City behind U23B #8903 and B30-7AB #2001. They are seen here taking headroom on CN's Holly Subdivision as they pull clear of the switch to back into the yard. The B unit would be left in Durand to await an inbound coal train, while the U23B would take 701 back north solo the following day. 5/20/2006

ImageCP 509 by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Going to Chicago was usually a lot more interesting than going to Toledo during my time at CSX, particularly on the West Olive coal trains. We would run over 4 different railroads taking the trains to and from the BNSF. Eastbound, we got on the loads at 59th Street on CSX’s Blue Island Sub. Immediately we would swing onto the Belt Railway of Chicago and run up to Rock Island Junction/CP 509. At 509, we would often have to wait for NS traffic and or the lift bridge over the Calumet River. On this day, I was on BNSF 6011 with train N800, waiting for a westbound intermodal. 6/4/2016

On the first day of official revenue operations, the West Michigan crew spots a Railbox at the dock at Hanson's Logistics in Hartford. This would end up being the first and only boxcar that Hanson's would ever receive after Pioneer sold the WMI to its current owners. Former Michigan Air Line (ex Coe Rail, originally GTW) SW1200 GLLX #1512 was the sole power on the new railroad at the time. Pioneer's long-dead NW2 #100 sits at the end of the track, and would be shipped out to Pioneer's shop in Illinois the following February. 11/13/2015

On the fabled "Route of the Chiefs", BNSF still runs the wheels off of their Z trains (or at least, they did). ZWSPSBD8 is shown here descending through the rock cuts east of Seligman, AZ on the Seligman Subdivision. Of all of the spots we visited in New Mexico, Arizona, and California along BNSF's transcon during this trip, this was one of my favorites. 4/13/2018

Q326 is sporting an all-blue power set in the form of ex Conrail SD40-2 #8822 and ex LMS C40-8W #7929 on this day. The train is departing Wyoming Yard on the Even Lead and will spend the rest of the afternoon running across the Mitten to Detroit. 3/18/2006

ImageL301 at Seymour? by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

With Y106 laid in for the day, CSX got creative. L301 normally works west from GR on the Grand Rapids Sub as far as Sawyer, but on this day they had them do some of Y106's work east of GR on the Plymouth Sub at Fox. With that work complete, the local is seen here rounding the corner at Seymour for a meet with L303 in the double track. 301 would subsequently run right through Wyoming Yard on the main and head for the WMI interchange in Hartford. 12/26/2024

Central Michigan U23B #8903 is the sole power for HESR's 701 on this pleasant Sunday during Durand Railroad Days 2006. Pre-recession, the HESR would run 702 south to Durand on Saturdays, and then 701 would go back north on Sundays. Sunday's north-bound was usually small enough for one unit to handle alone. The sound of these little 12- cylindered "blub-blubs" is something that made a lasting impression on younger me. 5/21/2006

ImageBlue Like My 40, It's Sitting Outsiiiide by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

One fine Fall day in late October 2014, I was called to recrew the previous night's Q327, which had tied down in the siding at New Buffalo. Our power was a classic Bluebird CEFX SD40M-2 (built as an SP SD45) and an SD70MAC. These leasers had been rebuilt from SD45s in the late 90s and early 2000s, and were actually in better shape than most of CSX's own SD40-2s. It was an absolutely picture-perfect Fall day with clear blue sky and full sun, and I was really hoping there would be some railfans out between here and Barr Yard to get some photos of this killer consist. Alas, the only one I saw was some crazy-looking dude at Clark Rd with three cameras around his neck and a car full of garbage.

Busy times at Wyoming Yard as CP train X500 moves to make its pick up, while Q326's power backs down the Coach Lead to its train. In the distance, Y193's power waits for both trains to finish their moves before resuming switching. X500 would also set out the trailing AC4400 for mechanical reasons, leaving #5997 as the sole power on the train for the trip to Windsor. 10/15/2006

ImageWillow Creek Diamond by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

West-bound Norfolk Southern auto train 31M is about to hit the diamonds of CSX’s Barr Subdivision at Willow Creek. The train is traveling on CSX’s Porter Branch, which was formerly a Conrail line. The Porter Branch functioned as a kind of back door way into and around Chicago, offering a more direct route to the Indiana Harbor Belt. Leading the train is one of NS’s former Conrail C40-8Ws, easily identifiable by the high headlight, goofy-ah number boards on the nose, and blanked out squares where the red marker lights once were. These days, NS no longer runs anything on the Porter Branch, and north of Willow Creek the line sees but 1 or 2 CSX locals a week. 4/3/2016

L303 kicks up the light dusting of "Fluffy White Death" we got the night before as they head east on the Plymouth Sub behind SD70AC rebuild #4736. 12/21/2024

ImageStorage Car Shenanigans by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

We made a rare trip to the current far east end of the West Michigan the other night to pluck a dozen cars out of storage for delivery to CSX. Our trusty pair of Geeps, 921 and 4428, provide the power. 4/24/2025

ImageEast Curtis by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Chicago-Grand Rapids freight Q326 (now M326) is a daily manifest between Barr Yard and Wyoming Yard. The train takes the Barr Sub out to East Curtis, where it hops on the NS Chicago Line at CP 497 for the run over to Porter. At Porter (CP 482), the train regains home rails, CSX's Grand Rapids Sub, for the rest of the journey. Getting out of Chicago could be a long slog, and there was more than one time where I never even made it off the Barr Sub in 12 hours. Traffic on CSX and NS was heavy in 2014, and here you can see we were at East Curtis, waiting on the first of many trains we would watch go by before finally getting our light onto the NS. At the right are the lead into CSX's Curtis Yard and the former EJ&E City Track. 7/23/2014

Marquette Rail ambles south through Sparta with half of a loaded grain train and an assorted cut of mixed freight. To the right of #2042 is one of the few remaining PM/C&O half mile markers.

King Leonidas was an ancient Greek best known for leading a battalion of 300 Spartans in battle against the Persian army around 480 BC. He was born in Sparta, MI. 1/4/2025

ImageA Splash Of Color by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Central Michigan C30-7 #5175 adds a splash of color to the otherwise drab winter day in Durand as it pulls around the Port Huron Wye with train 702. One of very few Dash 7s to receive BNSF paint, #5175 wasn't even supposed to be a CMGN unit originally. As the story goes, the railroad had struck a deal with BNSF for 3 ex BN C30-7s, a B30-7, and 3 B30-7ABs. While 2 BN C30-7s showed up, arriving with them was ex ATSF #5175, in fresh Heritage I paint. The unit was apparently sent in error by the BNSF. Since the Dash 7 fleet was on its way out on the BNSF, the railroad didn't really care, and the deal was altered so that the #5175 became the third Central Michigan C30-7. 2/9/2008

ImageLivingston by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

From the cab of CSXT #8388, we are in the siding at Livingston for a meet with Amtrak P371, the morning Pere Marquette, on train Q326. With only 61 cars on this day, our pair of SD40-2s was adequate power for the ruling grade on the Grand Rapids Subdivision, Saugatuck Hill. The switch in front of us is the lead to the D.C. Cook nuclear power plant. 6/20/2014

As I go through and upload the many photos that were saved by the NRHS Bluewater Chapter I come across many unique and interesting photos of equipment so I thought I'd share one of the more interesting ones here. Here is a view from the SEMTA shops of the roundhouse at Pontiac, MI. I believe SEMTA called it the Ojista shops which was the name of the road that led up to the coach yard. IIRC up until a few years ago there was a sign off of Woodward which had the SEMTA logo bleeding through. Should have grabbed a photo darn it!

ImageWaiting @ Waverly by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Q326 is in the siding at 112th Ave/Waverly, where we will wait for a meet with Amtrak P371. There was an unusual amount of NS power at Barr Yard the previous night (including the Conrail Heritage Unit), and we wound up with this SD70ACe-ES40DC pair. We had just picked up GP40-2 #6040 to forward to Grand Rapids for servicing. Our short 52 car train allowed us to fit here, the shortest siding on the Grand Rapids Subdivision. 8/2/2014

A single IHB SW1500 has gotten the light across the South Shore main at Burnham and is crossing Brainard Ave. The little switcher will take the branch down to Hohman and head into Gibson Yard. 4/21/2024

Mid Michigan GP9 #179 heads west along the Muskegon lakefront with a string of empty 2 bays for loading at Nugent Sand. It's the Summer of 2007, and there is still enough business on the Michigan Shore to warrant two daylight jobs in Muskegon. 7/24/2007

ImageGrand Junction by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

A view from the cab of Union Pacific SD70M #3853 on CSX train Q326 as we meet Amtrak P371 at Grand Junction. This is where we ran out of hours of service and we would leave the train there in the siding for the recrew. 3853 was the first UP unit I was ever on and was so clapped out, that climbing the grade out of Benton Harbor the thing vibrated so bad that one of the cab ceiling panels fell out and landed on my head! 12/19/2013

ImageWild Q326 by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Q326's power moves through the plant at Plaster Creek after having come out of the diesel house. A wild lash up today in the form of a Santa Fe Dash 9, CN SD75I, GATX SD40-2, and 4 CSX GP38-2s in 3 different paint schemes adds a splash of color to the otherwise overcast Spring day. Incredibly, #667 is still wearing its original Santa Fe Superfleet scheme as of mid 2025! 4/23/2006

ImageStarting The Climb by Jonathon Leese, on Flickr

Sporting a great-sounding K5H, CM44AC #7247 leads an 83 car L303 timetable east along Buchannan Ave in Grand Rapids. This is the start of the gradual climb east out of town, ultimately culminating at Fox about 8 miles east of here. The two trailing units will be set out at Webberville to power a loaded grain train. 4/12/2025

CW40-8s #7900 and #7732 chug upgrade at Fox with 132 cars of freight on Q335-12 in October of 2008. I certainly did not enjoy the what-were-then ubiquitous YN2 GE wide bodies, but I'm glad I have this shot in hindsight. 10/12/2008
