I have access to some old 8mm and super 8 film, maybe some railroad stuff on them from 60's and 70's. Thinking of buying a film scanner, any thoughts on whats good-better. Would like to be able to make prints/images if anything good on film plus convert to dvd.
Looks like around $300-$400 for a scanner, just wondering if anyone has any opinion on which are good.

Re: 8mm/super 8 to dvd and prints
I am in a similar situation and trying to decide whether or not to buy my own equipment and do it myself even though the number of 8mm films and slides are limited or just pay about the same or less to have a "professional" do it.
Or third option, less ethical, buy the equipment, do it myself the one and only time I will need to and then return the equipment.
