The only odd mention I have is what they may think is noise, is just that the containers all seems to have decent heat distortion, making their sides look a bit odd. I don't see the grain anywhere else though, but I am on the laptop at the moment.

Oh, looks like you were about a mile away from me for your shot, I got mine at the 28th st overpass:

I see grain (noise) in the roof of the building, on the side of the locomotive, on the fuel tank, and a bit on the plow. Why were you shooting at ISO 400 on a sunny day?

I see the same thing here. The next time, say no to ISO 400 in bright sunshine. This shot should be fixable with noise reduction software, so long as you don't screw up the containers.

What he said. Both of 'em and Zack too. For what it's worth, I never go above ISO 100 unless I'm getting desperate and can't maintain a fast enough shutter speed (i.e. at least 1/400 unless it's a real slow moving train where 1/320 might work). On a sunny day I'm generally at ISO 100, f6.3, 1/500 (or f7.1, 1/400 or f5.6, 1/640 or somewhere around that range of f/Tv combos). I guess I regularly violate the old "f8 and be there" advice but I find I can get good enough DOF at a little lower f stop and keep the ISO down to minimize noise while still keeping a fast enough shutter speed. ISO 200 is almost as good as 100 but with 400 & up you start to have noticeable noise creep into images and particularly when it's sunny out that's a "no - no" for rp.net.

My two cents... other opinions? If you shoot full manual, what's your usual settings for sunny day pictures?

I usually end up at f6.3 1/1000th, ISO 200 or f8.0 1/1000 ISO 200.
But looking at my photos on RP, you'll notice I don't use them often :D

Well what happened was The night prior i was shooting some dusk time shots and messing with the ISO and Fstop and stuff " trying to get better at night shots"than the following day i was on my way to work and i went outta my way to check the tracks and saw X500 round the corner so i jumped out and grabbed what i could but in my haste i forgot to adjust the darn Iso it usually never leaves 100 lol and at that location i would have had my F4l zoom lens on instead of the darn wide angle all well i guess.

I would like to see the RAW file on this one. I see alot of distortion on the wires to the left of the train and on the building. Did you crop this alot? or is this the full shot? i am looking @ it on a crappy and dirty laptop screen.
