MICHIGAN SUGAR CO. CARROLLTON in HO SCALE

Here is the start of section 1 of my layout, Michigan Sugar Co. at Carollton (between Saginaw and Zilwaukee). The functioning name of the railroad is a spin off the old Oglebay Norton Saginaw Docks operation in Saginaw, it is called Saginaw Terminal Docks (STD). The time frame is the 1980s and closely sticking to real prototype; when finished it will span between Mershon Jct. and the building of the Zilwaukee Bridge / Sargent Docks (North of here is Bay City which will be hidden Staging). There will be lots of the old track and lots of switching including Michigan Elevator Exchange, The Docks, a couple smaller industries that still got a car or 2 in the 1980s, and Michigan Sugar Co. with be the main industry handling an variety of cars from airside hoppers and tanks to loads of limestone and coal to covered hoppers full of beet pellets and more. You can closely follow on http://www.facebook.com/saginawterminaldocks , but I will post on here too as trains start to move. Here are a couple pics to see where I am at with the first section... You can see in the image from google earth the tracks I am modeling, the two main lines/sidings at the bottom of the image will come later on...
